AZ: I Found Snow In The Desert
La Nina has given The Arizona desert two crappy winters in a row. Sunday we got our first rain in over three months. Conditions were too good to pass up so I burned up my last vacation day yesterday and went for a solo ride.
![]() ![]() ![]() Here you can see the snowy mountains looming in the background. ![]() ![]() The trail goes through the water in this one. ![]() ![]() I found the snow line! Brr! My grip heaters were on high. ![]() ![]() ![]() About two hours the other direction & I’m now looping back. The snow line is where I was… ![]() Another rocky spot.

The area is Sycamore Creek. The Snowy mountains are the Four Peaks. The loop I rode consisted of trails named, Mud Springs, Dagger, Rattlesnake Pass, Two Gate, West Indi, Itty-Bitty, Skyline, Heavy Metal, Scaryokee, Sycamore Springs to Paintball.

I want to do the Four Peaks ride. I live on the west side and don't get over that way much though. Cool stuff.

Nice pics. Always cool to ride up to snow -- just watch for mud! Thanks.
