Hodag, your Fighting Lutherans football team barely averaged eight points per game this year. You need to be listening to everything Jim says.

For those of you who have never been on the internet before, here's how it works. Stories frequently contain a mixture of truth, fiction, and humor. It's normally pretty damn obvious which is which. Since you guys aren't really getting it, I'll help you out a little bit. After each sentence I'll add a note, specifying whether it is true, something I made up, or an amusing anecdote. For instance, my previous post would have looked like this:

"You'll be happy to know my little band of miscreants won 8-2 this morning over the Sharks (True, except they're not miscreants. They're actually quite the little sweethearts). The only reason it was that close was because the Sharks had a defender who was at least a foot taller than anyone else on the team (True. She was a giant.) She looked to be about nineteen years old (Fiction. She looked like a big eight year old). Our demands to see her birth certificate went unanswered (Humor. We didn't ask to see her birth certificate. I mean, really!) Do you guys think we should protest to the league commissioner? (Humor. Incredibly fucking obvious humor. Although if you're so obtuse you thought the birth certificate sentence was true, you might have been swept along by this sentence also.)

Will that help? Should I use different colors?

In "The Hunger Games" Donald Sutherland opined that a little hope was a good thing, but too much hope could be dangerous. The Fighting Monkeys had a glimmer of hope after the first quarter, finding themselves trailing the Wildcats by only two goals. That hope was quickly crushed under an offensive onslaught in the second quarter, when the Wildcats went on a 9-1 run enroute to a 16-2 victory. The Wildcats, now 6-0, continue their romp through the 8-and-under league.

GO WILDCATS!

ahh, the 1/2 field stuff. It's all good so long as the kids are having fun.

My son's team won 7-1 today, with 2 goals disallowed over some bullshit rule about no sliding kicks on the indoor fields. NicoSon had a good day in net.

I think the goals are about 5-6 feet across in the lower leagues at the local soccer house.

It's 8-and-under girls rec league soccer. That's why it's so fucking funny when I compare them to the Chicago Bulls, or when I use quotes from the Hunger Games.
