The absolute best, most comfortable summer gloves I've ever worn were the Held Air Heroes. They were an absolute pleasure to put on and wear for the 3 weeks I had them prior to them falling apart. I kid you not, I've got a ton of gloves in the garage, and the Helds were simply the bomb. I was seriously sad when I had to send them back.

I picked up some Held SpeedFour gloves this weekend. They seem to channel a lot more air between my fingers and in the palms than my old first generation BMW AirMesh gloves. Hopefully these hold up well.

In almost any crash report I read, at least those that occur at any speed, it seems lightweight gloves without significant wrist, palm, and side of hand strength and protection are a real liability. Talk to any track rider and they will tell you how important protective gloves are in a get off and how cheaper gloves commonly fail usually at the seams on the base of the palm or side of the hand. No knuckle protectors can be a liability in a lot of get offs, especially if you get a hand trapped under your body when you slide.

Any MX glove will do in the heat. Cheap, light and flow air. Those boys crash a lot too.

My faves were a pair of KTM gloves that my son's dog ate. Rode them for 5 years all over the continent. I have KLIM now, but too hot...

Obviously you don't ride much...

Have you seen The Held Air gloves? knuckle protectors, laser cut ceramic on the contact points, very tough glove....who said they were looking for cheap?

Ahem....Post #91.

Great gloves that fell apart in less than a month.

On groomed dirt they do, how many MX guys you seen crashed on pavement? I rode with a guy couple years back that looped a bike on pavement while wearing MX gloves. His hands looked like they went through a meat grinder (TX chip seal). Hell the gloves tore right off his hands.

That being said, I usually wear them dual sporting, but I don't kid myself that they offer any real protection for crashing.

Wish I'd taken more (and better) pictures of them prior to returning them, but this was taken after about 3 weeks with them. I'm peeling back the "Held" logo, you can see the thread coming loose on the palm, and you can see the leather delaminating from the kevlar liner. Maybe I got a bum set, I dunno. I'd hope that was the case, and if it is, I'd happily get another pair.

Mine have about 6 months of daily use on them and are going strong. A bit of thread loose around the cuff, but nothing serious, and I've not been nice to them. I'd most likely be willing to get another pair. Combination of airflow and protection is outstanding.

That's good to hear. I'll get another set and see how they do.

I just picked up a set of the Held Sambia gloves about two weeks ago. They are much beefier in person than the picture below lets on. The knuckle armor is nice and heavy duty. Good armor on the outside of your wrist, and they have the ceramic dots on the meaty part of your hand. I had read about the ceramic dots on their website, but they still impressed me once I got my hands on the gloves. I had not seen them in person before I ordered them, but the reviews were good. I have another set of Held gloves that I love, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I've only ridden about 500 miles with them so far, but I'm thrilled with them. Plenty of airflow, great fit, and substantial armor. They will be my #1 gloves I reach for from now on

Thanks for the "review" of the Sambia, OoPEZoO. I hadn't considered that one until now.

Wanted to see if anyone had comparative experience with both the Air Stream (Hero) and the Agadir. Reasonable price jump between the two, but dollahs is dollahs.
