mikuni adapter

Hey guys i do not know if anyone is interested but I found a perfect fitting to adapt mikuni carbs to the stock intake pipe that requires no cutting. I will post a pic later. I was digging through my parts bins and found a Porsche 951 intercooler boot that is the perfect size for the carb and J pipe. The part number is 951-110-371-01-M100 it can be found at pelican parts.

was it meant to have gasoline running through it?
If not, I doubt it will hold up.
Found a K75 intake piece that worked too, but not the correct rubber.
And now, what with gasohol , it's more important than ever.

Thanks for the tip, just looked at it and it does look perfect, if the dimensions are right.
Since it lives under the hood where it's hot and exposed to all kinds of vapors, and is part of the forced air intake system, it think it might just stand a chance to hold up.
Definitely worth a try.

Mikunis can often need adapters on both ends - is this for the airbox/carb or carb/head connection?

Sorry guys, it works perfectly for the airbox side of the carb. I have the vm 34s on mine.

The stock hose worked just fine for my Mikuni carbs.

So far I like plumber's pipe reducers the best. This is one of the reasons I run Dellortos. After modifying the carb a bit, late model snorkels fit on them perfectly with no radiator hose and just a clamp.

That tired speedo cable boot is a water funnel to your tranny. IMO, water is what takes out a lot of tranny bearings. Get a new boot and just the right size electrical heat shrink insulation and shrink it over the boot and down on the cable. It seals out the water perfectly and your tranny will last lots longer.

I think I misunderstood. I used a quick L plumbing connector on the airbox side and the stock hoses on the engine side. They are VM34's.

Thanks for noticing the speedo boot. I got another one and added the shrink tubing.

I will take another pic of the adapter boot I cleaned the dust off and added another clamp. Sorry the photo was when I just threw it on. I had plumbers adapters on before and they looked too bulky. I can deal with a weird adapter more than I could deal with the bings.
