Right decision all the way. You can tell the time and road position was biting at him initially. In the end, though, his true goal, finishing, weighed the decision.

Finally I got around to doing this.
One of these will look great on the wall of my garage, even if I don't get to see it much.

Accessing bandwidth is more expensive than phone service down there, at least out in the bivouacs. Pyn and I did the pre-race call via skype, and some of the other interviews I've done in the past I do with skype whenever possible.

Nate and Lyndon thank you so much for this call in. Never been so relieved to hear the news of the day.

Incredible Lyndon - just incredible. Fair play to you for at the time thinking 'Oh well, I've had a good run' and working through it - most would have just called that a day. Amazing recovery and what a highlight to your biking career and your Dakar as a whole.

Can't wait to hear tomorrows news. Sleep fast buddy and keep her Pyn'd!

Go PYN Go!

Another great day .......... in the books!

Atta boy Lyndon! Atta Boy!

Nice recovery on the trailside repair! Nice job!

Thanks Nate for all the voodoo that you do! Sent a little something your way to help defray!

Also hello to PynMom, PynSis, and also to Gwenduro .............. what a family affair! Speaking of which, Nate, one of my favorite pictures from last year was the one of you feeding your kids at the breakfast bar. Cute photo, cute kids. As I remember, they were a couple of "real keepers".

Ride fast & ride safe Pyn!

Cool stage today, just watching the interviews segment (actually had a lot of bike coverage for once). Incredible scenery.

Is there a photo anywhere of the fork bottom?

Artwork just arrived courtesy of Ernie! Well impressed I'm gonna get the man himself to sign it when I see him in a week or two before it gets framed and put on my wall

Thanks Ernie

Wow what a day. Another great call Ned thank you. You really know what questions we all want to ask and you also know when to belt up and let Pyndon open up.

I was struck by the thought processes and how clear and focused he was when a lot of people would have panicked and either given up or made a rash decision. The fact that this happened so late on in the rally when he is tired and in pain makes it all the more admirable. He sounds really positive and upbeat and so he should what he did yesterday is nothing short of incredible.

Well...Pyn is sure getting his money's worth out of his Dakar. The full spectrum! Top ten; high speed crash; totally lost and all alone in the dunes; JB weld and zip tie trailside repairs...
