Wow.. good job on that fix. Will Lyndon get penalised for being such a good mechanic/zip tie engineer as it seems a bit of an unfair advantage!

My thoughts exactly.
Lyndon's assessment of the grave situation, weighing the consequences of different plans of action, and then actually implementing that repair on the fork bottom in those circumstances are really an amazing testament of his clear dedication and focus on the plan to finish the rally. Not worrying about standings, but getting to the finish. Getting through that "Dakar moment" during the stage, on his own, with his own talent, must be such a rewarding experience.

That call-in was a thriller!

Lets hope for a steady stage without any major problems.
I`d also like to send a big thank you to Pyndad for his exellent work in keeping Lyndon on the bike and in the Dakar.
Hears to you and all the support team.

As DeeGee and many others have said, this is proper nail-biting stuff! I saw last night that PM had posted the interview whilst I was watching Eurosport and although it was wayyyyy past my bedtime I had to find out what happened. Even Mrs Coose asked me this morning as I was quite worried last night, with her first question being "it's not his ankle, is it?"! And there was me thinking that she wasn't taking an interest in my obsession....

Keep at it Pyn, and my bestest to PynGirlfriend, Toldlady and PynSister as, if I'm like this I can't imagine how you're all feeling!

WOW!

I've been impressed with the intelligent race you've had and your steady gains in the overall position, but that trailside repair is something few people would have managed... especially keeping in mind that once the bike was rolling again, you managed to pass quite a few riders even though the nagging feeling of the bike breaking down again (and breaking you in the process) I'm sure was always there!

I'm pretty sure that aside from exchanging forks with another "lesser" team mate, none of the top 10 riders would have been able to solve this the way you have!

GO PYNDON!

Not surprising - none of the top ten were brought up and trained by PynDad

He started 87th and moved all the way up to 42nd thru WP5. But something seems to have slowed him down.

Edit: never mind...everytime I go back to the live timing is shows something different.

He started so far back, he doesn't arrive at the WP's until quite late. When he does, he pops up according to his time and those slower drop behind him. It's confusing because we don't know where he is on the road relative to others. You can't really track his position until he passes a WP.

One thing we know is he is having a strong day and moving up through the pack steadily with a mid 40's pace.

Fighting his way back through the field, I can imagine a blue flash and spray of dust going past each rider and them wondering what the hell it was! Gp Pyn!!!
