Don't say I can't take the piss out of myself for my own shoddy workmanship, Andy!

Nah Trev, tight as a drum, round, smooth and full.
I did however, manage to 'loose' my two front caliper bolts which made the next 100 km interesting.
I suppose Martin will be pleased that I took the bike out for a 'shakedown' before the Flinders.

Has he confirmed attendance yet? Spoke to him the other day and he sounded enthusiastic about the riding but not so much about the company!!

Just did an oil/filter change on the Tenere.......bloody hell, is that a task and a half? Took me over an hour.

After your little "looseness" I just went out and checked all the tightenings again...

Now just the oil/filter/air on the 400 and I'm ready to go.

How often do you have to change them Trev?
Sounds like its a bit complimicated
Must be an easy way, study up.
Undo nut,
drain oil,
put nut back in,
fill oil up.
Or is there shit loads of stuff you have to remove to get at the nut?

For fear of turning this into the 'how to change oil on a tenere' thread....sorry MB

Remove bash plate,
remove dip stick
drain frame
drain engine
remove oil filter drain bolt
replace filter
bolt everything up, including bash plate
put in 1.9 lt of oil, run motor for five mins
put in remaining .7 lt
run motor for a few minutes, some revs
check oil level,
drink beer
phew! longer than the DR I can tell ya.

and at $20 for the filter and $70 for the oil, about 150,000 km between drinks.

Hi MB, looks like I missed out on a great ride..

I have always wanted to ride through those hills, especially up near the wind farms at the top.

Top ride report & great photos.

See you on the next one.

Cheers, Sol..

Got out today and had my own little zig zag.
Got a call from Bluey last night and with the missus's blessing we planned a quick ride today.
He got here early this morning and after hot X buns and coffee we set off south for Taylor's Run road and Black Joes road before a little spin down Hester's rd.
Off through Marrabel and out to Tothill Creek rd. Man I love this road. We stopped at Julia Creek before shooting to inspiration point and down to the Robertstown pub for some quenching beverages. We shot off through Brady's Creek after the refreshments. From there we backtracked and explored our way back to Marrabel then home. 200 km in 5 hours. A top day.

Sure is and a tough little track too. I thought you guys had been on it as it looked to have had some recent bike traffic on it.

You should be able to get through Hester's Rd, but not through Oaklynn.

The boys that run cattle in the hills between the two do a fair bit of stock work on bikes, so it may be their tracks you saw.

Great day out. Thought you might have got the shots of the 990 or the DR up on their back wheels.

Thanks Ozzy, I couldn't believe I'd taken 80 pics on the day .................... obviously not all were Oscar winning shots, but all the same I don't think I held the troops up that much too.

Sounds like Tarlee is becoming the new "place to meet" for some great rides. Mind you it's such an ordeal to get home from there when you start from down south, but the great riding tracks I'm finding are making up for it

cya soon hey?
