Way back when the Overlander setups were just coming out, there was talk of future availability of mounting plates (or maybe just clamps) that would fit other tubing. I've got Happy Trails racks, which seem to measure 16mm O.D. on the tubing (might be 5/8", which is 15.875 mm)...any chance such clamps ever materialized?

Hi mate,

As I'm sure you've discovered already, those thins are pretty darn tough, so as long as you don't machine wash it on hot or with biological detergent (if at all possible try to stay away from machine washing and detergent, but if you must, be sure to remove the reservoir and tube etc, use only detergent for delicate fabrics and use the least aggressive cycle), you'll be fine.

Personally, I'd just remove the reservoir etc and gently scrub it in a light solution of dish soap (baby shampoo is actually best because it rinses out very easily) and luke warm water then allow to air dry (no direct heat source) fully.

Or you could always just 'levain' it i.e. turn the hose or pressure washer on the sucker.

Cheers,

Michael

Not yet, mate. Sorry.

I'll let you know if they do, though.

Cheers,

Michael

Do any of the Kriega backpacks allow airflow between the pack and your back somehow? I thought I remember seeing one that does but I'm not sure if it was a Kriega.

Yep. Better than most, chief!

All Kriega packs use Superspace 5mm airspace mesh fabric to promote airflow and reduce perspiration and also have a channel down the center of the back plate to further improve ventilation.

Hope this info proves useful, but please do let me know if you need any more detail.

Cheers,

Michael

Nice one, Morgan! Great to have you as the latest member of the Kriega Krewe.

Y'all need to know that Morgan is the real deal- skilled, professional, passionate about off-road riding and only stocks the gear he genuinely digs. He's also a top bloke, so you CO folks could do a lot worse than pay him a visit sometime.

Cheers,

Michael

Waterproof

Michael, just wanted to pass on how happy I am with my Kriega gear. It's amazing how much you can pack into these.

Inside this US20 is all the clothes and personal items (including a net book) I needed for a 4 day trip.

I got rained on for hours and everything inside was completely dry.

Can't say enough for these products.
