17x45 and 17x45, same chain length?
Edit: Title is wrong... should be 17x45 and 17x47, Same chain Lenght?
Hi all, Hope the title is clear enough... I used a 16x45 or 17x45 transmission depending of the ride (Roaming Rally or family travel) As I now have 2 set of wheel, it would be easier to keep the same front sprocket and change the rear, depending on the wheel. 17x45 and 17x47 would be the best to me My question is simple... is this possible to have 17x45 and 17x47 with the same chain? Does anybody ever tried? Thanks (I did some search, no success)

It shouldn't be a problem. I've went up a couple teeth on the rear with a couple different bikes and all it required was cranking the axle adjusters up toward the front a bit.

16-17
I've been doing the 16 to 17 with no probs. But now with the rekluse I just stay with the 17 for every thing.

but, as a matter of fact, on the 950 ADV, if you put a 17x45, cutting the chain as short as possible (have to flip the axle), you can then use a 16x45 and have a correctly adjusted chain in both situation... but you are very close to the front/rear limit (depending on the sprocket size) I want to know if the available variation is enough to fit 17x45 and 17x47 using only one chain (a new one)

But I guess the sprockets distance variation with 17x45/17x47, having 118 or 122 links, is pretty nothing
