I'm pre-registered for both GRRR and Hiawatha.. And I'm not giving my registration away to Coopdaway this year.. Sorry Doug!!

I was kinda torn between GRRR and the IL Guzzi rally (which serves free beer and tons of food for almost the same price) but I haven't been to a Madison club rally in 15 years, and the first rally I ever went to was a GRRR at the old Jellystone location back in 1986.. I haven't been to a GRRR since they left Bagley, so it's time..

And as I mentioned, I've had the Hiawatha on my calendar for over a decade (maybe 2?) and this year I'm GOING!!

Hell, I might even ride a BMW!!

A couple of my buddies do the IL Guzzi rally, but I soured on it when the campground person treated us like crap.
Also, not being a beer drinker, going to that only saves me a bit on food.
The Madison Club has also had beer at registration the last couple years, and they have a meal on Saturday.
Plus, it's in Wisconsin in the Driftless area. Need I say more?

Whoops. They must have moved it since then. I don't blame them either.

Looking at the campground map.

What sites/area are good choices?

Depends on whether you want quiet or not. Quiet Area is on top of the hill (upper left). There are usually plenty of campfires and story tellin', but things tend to not be too rowdy. Except for those jerks in '09. There are bathrooms and showers up there as well. Lower right section is the Not So Quiet zone, although, truthfully, that's not that bad either, You'll get a fair amount of noise from the band and pavilion area, so it's not the best choice for those who like to retire early. Also, beware of golf cart shenanigans. The lower left section is the Party Til You Puke zone. It''s also the only area without electricity, but a nice, primitive camp area with good shade and biffies. There are bathrooms and showers located in the campground office, on the pool side,

Hope this helps.

If one does not like listening to the music, up the hill is a good choice.

If'n you throw your tent up between the swimming pool and fish pond you'll get dueling frogs to help drown out the band..

So what's this I hear that the GS (gravel sucks) ride may have some H20 on it this year?

There was some water last year. One of the crossings even had a decent amount in it.

You were on it last year? I couldn't see any more than 5ft in any direction so it's possible I missed you

Perhaps a friday night rain dance around the hot-dog bonfire will be needed to help the situation

Please don't. That did not work well for the Guzzi riders.

Friday night's band will be Left Wing Bourbon. If you were at last year's RA rally, they were Thursday night's entertainment and they are fantastic.
