this has surely been mentioned here before, but one of my biggest problems with daryl from walking dead. who the hell would be stupid enough to roll around on a bike with ape hangers and a 1.5 gallon tank (or any bike at all - there's a time and place for cages) during the zombie apocalypse?

edit: also, i accidentally watched the end of the movie. now i dont' have to watch the beginning! huzzah
from there to the end is the best part of the movie!
I kind of disagree about not using a bike though. Like when the highway is all blocked up with derelict cars, a bike would be just right to get through that stuff.

As far as bashing zombies, I keep thinking you could use that move where the guys go over big logs. On a slow moving zombie, if you're not going too fast, lofting the front knobby and putting it just so, right on the sternum, knock em down and the back just goes bumpty bump over em.

Hit em too low though and they could kind of fold over the bars, which would be scary with those chompers working at you, right over the tank. That would make your arms really long, all of a sudden. (Of course you'd have to carry some guns with you too.)

I think the KLR has the heft for that kind of action, but can you even get the front wheel off the ground with one of those?

Disclosure: I'm all for extra big knobbies on zombie runs.

Come the zombie apocalypse I want one of those a long extension cord and a generator - holy hell, I swear - it ATE that old water tank growling, snarling, and spitting out the bones - I don't think I've ever been quite so scared of a power tool in my entire life.

Pete

angle driver?
you mean grinder?

In a zombie apocalypse situation I would definitely be wearing leathers, kevlar, full face helmet, boots and armoured gloves etc even if I wasn't on the bike! Theres a time and a place for cages but always a time and place for good bite and infection control... I would rather be on foot away from centres of population than in a cage... cage means a vehicle to break down and need gas. See 28 days later, tunnel scene and motorway stop scene, and AUDs many gas escapades. Also slightly OT see war of the worlds to see what other people would do for your car... Better to be on foot away from people.

Last night I had a crazy dream...and it was not about a chick in a black bikini.

Or at least I think it was a dream. I have not gone outside yet...
The ZA happened and I was attacked. I manged to rip one of their arms off and was hitting them with it. I might have actually been "sleep laughing" when I realized what I was doing. I have no bite marks so I am good.
it was a LONG tiring day, so that could explain the bizarre dream.

I was outside drinking my coffee...no sign of any ZA yet. I wonder how long the picket fence will hold them back.

Only if you put the correct number of bricks in the milk crate.

Speaking of the perfect ZA vehicle, this might not be it but I would want to to try it out of the ZA ever comes. Or even if it doesn't...
I love this truck (that will most likely never be produced since it is so awesome).

They are calling it the JT.
