Saddleman Seats Adventure Track

Just wanted to throw this out there. Saddleman Seats have come out with a Adventure Track seating line. I got to take a look at it a couple of months ago at Indy. Here is the link but it doesn't show much.

http://www.saddlemen.com/store/index...th=172_178_700

The seats have a small flap on the back with velcro on it. Under that is a couple of d-rings for securing payloads, lugguge or your wife if she has a problem holding on. Limited inventory right now but as I see these come available I will post some on here.

They come in heated and non heated versions. Low and regular versions. Here are the models they are covering.

BMW F650GS 01-07, F650S 08-12, G650GS 09-12, F800GS 08-12, R1200GS 04-12
Ducati Multistrada 1200 10-11
Honda XR650L 08-12
KLR650 08-12
KTM 950/990 03-12, Super Enduro 950 R 06-09
Suzuki DR-Z 400E/400S/400SM/00-12, DR650SE 96-09 11-12, V-strom 650 04-11, V-strom 1000 02-12
Triumph Tiger 800 11-12
Yamaha Super Tenere 2012

Just wanted to throw them out there as another option for ADV riders. Hope it helps

Looks like this on my KLR. They used my bike for fitment testing.

These are the integrated tie downs. Saddlemen are developing an adventure oriented luggage line to work with these and other seats currently being developed. .

Anyone running one of these? I heard from soneone (the only person I could find giving their input) that the suede stayed damp for a while. Minor drawback if the seat is good for the nuts and butts...

How's the load path from the rings through to the frame? It'd be a drag to have your load pull your seat off!

The stock plastic seatpan is crap, my Corbin is fiberglass with a metal tab on each side, but I've never looked at a Saddleman.

Could be the best seat out by looking at the features. Looked at there website and Facebook. Didn't see a single photo of an F800gs fitted with one of their seats.
Have they sold one yet? No info other than a part number. Very interested. Great price especially considering you don't have to supply your seat pan.

I'm interested, but one question. The Honda XR650L is pretty unchanged since 1994, why do you only offer seats for the 08-12 models?

Disregard that question. Website states 93-12 XRLs. If I don't sell it before spring, I may try one of these seats. If it is more comfy, might ride it more.

I have the Saddlemen on my GSA...I like it much better than the stock seat. My better half has no complaints about the pillion but she has an IRONBUTT. The cut out for the boys seems to work (probably should be a little wider and deeper though)...

Suede is outstanding...does stay a bit damp, but has excellent grip...your pants should be waterproof...

best part, it fits the BMW attachments better than the stock seat...

All in all...worth it!!!

The plus on these seats are that you can get in the heated version.

Correction.... Their website shows a F650GS which is the same as a 800. The owner wrote that it is an F850GS, Oops.
Seriously thinking of ordering one.

This seat really has my interest but where the heck does the water go when riding in the rain? I'm envisioning it just pooling up in that trough.

compare to Sargent ?

Hey there. Has anyone has the chance to try one of these, and also have tried a Sargent? I have had a Sargent on my KLR for a few thousand miles...it is so much better than stock. However my bony skinny a$$ still screams after a few hundred miles in the seat. I bought the gel insert from Saddlemen..and fashioned my own 'pad'. It seemed to make the world of difference. I guess I am pretty sure the Saddlemen track seat would be better....now to come to grips with the fact that my totally custom Sargent (cost me over 400) might not be for me....... Carbon fiber/no piping/double stitch metallic silver.

Any buyers ?? ;)
