Dual Sport Ride Through Micheaux State Forest

It was such a beautiful Saturday afternoon and when I found myself with nothing else to do, naturally a ride just had to happen. So I geared up and decided to go explore Michaux State Forest in PA and expand my knowledge base of the huge network of dirt roads and double track.

I started out at the south eastern end of the forest and decided I would just let my nose lead me. The road is called Rattlesnack Run...
No idea where this leads, the best kind of road...

There was miles of groomed double track and dirt roads...

I found this cool lake in the middle of nowhere...

An open gate lead through here...

To this rock outcropping...pretty cool...

Later on, another open gate lead through some trees...

to this sunlit meadow...

I crossed lots of creeks...

And found several overlooks...

Found this old foundation...great parking!

By a little brook...

And then did lots more of these...

Before heading home to dinner out. Out of 150 miles, 100 were on the dirt...That's a nice ratio any time! I think I only scratched the surface...this place is a dream to ride!

Nice pics. Nice roads. Different kind of forest than we have here in the PNW.

How do you like that side stand re-locator you're running? Thinking I need to do that on my 2007 990.

That is the PABiker re-locator. I would say the best mod I have made to the bike. Super simple to install and talk about piece of mind....a must.

I want to ride some of the trails in your neck of the woods someday. That's on my to do list!

The trick is to expand your definition of "open".
