I changed the oil and filter on my 2005 DR650 using the 10W40 and went on a 3 day, 767 mile ride from Seattle to the Columbia River Gorge and back during the second weekend of July. The temperature in the Columbia River Gorge area reached 100 degrees F so on day 2 we decided to ride around Mt. Hood Oregon thinking it would be little cooler. It was a little bit cooler but the ride was still in the 90's.

The engine ran cooler and the shifting was smoother. I had the chance to compare the Royal Monarch Super Synthetic with the previous oil because I went on a 739 mile ride to eastern WA in June.

I'm sold on this product and will be using it for now on.

Okay, haven't read the full thread so sorry if this has been asked, but always interested in high-quality lubricants. Anyway, how does this compare to my current fave, Redline motorcycle-specific oils. True "Group V" oil, etc.? Thanks - BrianK

I'll let you compare. Our VOA's are at the beginning.

I've been using both 10w40 and the 15w50 in several bikes and am very pleased.

Last year I sold my DL650. The new owner took the bike into the shop for new plugs and valve checks. The shop responded..... What oil have you been using.....this is the cleanest and least wear bike we have ever opened up with over 40k miles. She had a nice diet of Royal Monarch in her last 20k.

By the way....I plan to use Royal Monarch 10w40 in my "new to me" BMW R1150RT. MOST USE A 50wt oil, but the specs on the Monarch are off the charts for additives and flash point....exceeding most 50 wt's.

Bernhard,

Sent you an email a few days ago and haven't heard back.

Had a question about buying some 10w40 from a past 15w50 customer.

Shipping a gallon is a money losing business. I was losing on every shipment due to the inflated shipping cost that account for 1/3 of the cost. It is one of the biggest issues shipping heavy items like oil.

Just to chime in my quick review:

I'm on my 3rd oil change with the 15w50 in my Super Tenere. I'm pretty happy with the oil. Shifting feels good and consistent right through the whole oil change interval.

Bern has been great to deal with. We had a bit of a fumble with UPS but he got on them and investigated fully and made the situation right.

Great guy, great business, US product.

I'm so satisfied I'm going to order a case of 10w40 for cold weather.

Just put 4 quarts of the 10w40 in my 2004 R1150RT. While the 15w50 is great oil and my XR650R liked it the best...this 40wt is off the charts!!!!

The ZDDP (is incredibly and high...along with the Flash Point.

I regret having to do this but due to unresolvable issues with leaking bottles I will no longer be selling Royal Mfg. oil. It appears the bottles are designed for bulk shipments. In addition the increase in shipping a 25LB product has gone out of control so it does not make sense for me to put effort into this. If you still have an interest in the product please visit www.RoyalMfg.com

It's a great product and I will continue using it but due to logistical issues and the design of the bottle for bulk shipments (it appears) it is exposing me to liability issues.

All existing orders will be honored and completed.

Thank you for everyone's support and see you on the trail!

Thank you,
Bern
