If so we could do:

Friday to Echo Park.
Saturday a north loop up and into the singletrack Norm knows.. camping at the Gates of Lodore
Sunday turn south.. do that awesome route near rangely you lead us on last year and then some variation of the pipeline dumping us out to camp near the book cliffs..

I could maybe, get beer and ice delivered to Lodore Saturday night. Would have to do some honey do's, but maybe could swing it.

Fuel issue?
Jensen to Lodore, 75 miles
Lodore to Sandwash OHV about 30 miles
Playing around on ATV and single track say 30 or more, depends on you guys.
Then back to Lodore at 30 miles or less, we would work our way back, then 55 the next day to Maybell for Gas (looking at 250 ish miles maybe) I am ok, but others may be close. ( I might be able to work on a 5 gallon delivery of fuel with beer to Lodore also, just remembered my daughter is back from school and Maybe she could bring it out if she wants to go back to school!)
OR
Visit Lodore then Sandwash OHV to Maybell for Fuel
Then Maybell to Deerlodge Park Campground where the Yampa enters Dinosaur to camp.
I can work out numerous options for you but access to fuel is a factor.

I'm waiting to hear Bill's schedule... I know he mentioned some new cool stuff on the south route but I'm not sure which days he's available.

a work deadline is slipping and creeping perilously close to this weekend.

I'm not panicking yet, and if it hoses this weekend I will ride up there the following weekend with any other stragglers that can't make this date.

....not to mention I'm still waiting on the phone call on when the bike will arrive, minor detail

Lets see, the next weekend I am available also and would make the trip again in a minute! So if ya cannot make this one, let me know! Yampa Bench never gets old! Best thing about teaching, June/July/August!
After today I only have 3 more Mondays till summer!

On a side note, I will be off to Browns Park Friday after school, staying the night at Lodore, then looping back early in the morning Saturday through Vermillion Basin, up over Lookout Mountain. down Sand Wash, up Seven Mile Rim, cross the Little Snake River and Godiva Rims then over Great Divide, for an 11 am baseball game, gotta watch the kid play! Hopefully no flats!

For us American Supercampers, Geek warned me this weekend to be doing squats, and lots of them, before going to class. I figure I have six weeks to have my legs a lot stronger.

Ugh, that reminds me I need to start doing those for mountain biking now that I've run my 1/2 marathon. Squats are bleh, the results are amazing though. I can stand up on the pegs much longer before getting tired now, compared to before I started doing squats and mountain biking regularly last year.

I'll be up for that!
Seems to me the 2nd weekend had better weather last year.

Get yourself a kettlebell and do not just regular squats but some of the other exercises that work the core. Kettlebells will make you really strong and work all of the muscles. Pilates is a good thing as well.

I would love to do the Dinosaur Run, I just don't know that I'm ready for it as I'm out of shape, out of practice, and want more time on more technical dirt before I try. Any chance of going out there in the fall? Is fall a good time to visit the area?

Fall is a great time to head out there. The way things are shaping up, I might have to postpone until then.

Some quick probing on the KLR seems to indicate a bad CDI. Before dropping $300+, I really need to pull the unit from Paula's bike to see if that really does fix the problem. 12+ hour days at work right now, followed by a week in Utah, followed by a week of business travel is really putting a damper on my ability to get bikes fixed. If I can't make this, we're definitely doing a fall trip. Back-up plan for Memorial Day is to camp / ride / trail-clear the Snyder creek area.
