dead horse gap and beyond

i did this 4 day ride last week

1st stop, lake bathurst 2 hrs souyh of sydney, aussieland

turn right here for tarago





i stopped at cooma for the night,

a bit of fog next morning as next pic shows



from cooma i went to thredbo then to

dead horse gap. not as cold as usual




across the murray river and into the great

state of victoria

im now on the corryong / benambra road stopped

at sassafrass gap to get a pic





just south of hinnomunjie i got onto

parish boundary lane. this is a well known adv road

in these parts. like a giant roller coaster

next stop was omeo where i spent the night

stayed at the golden age motel which i

highly reccomend heres some pics of omeo







next morning more fog















some other riders were there as well

the guy who rides the tenere has his right

leg missing just below the knee .

he has done a charity ride around australia in six

weeks like that

i am now heading up the omeo highway to

anglers rest,lightning creek and mitta mitta.






















coming up is the cobungra river,

they do a bit of rafting here










another view of the victorian alps

then its downhill to lightning creek

then on to tallangatta










the park in tallangatta

nice stop for a break





next stop lake hume then across

the murray river back into new south wales

at jingellic










comin up is the town of batlow,

famous for its apples






last stop for this trip is the lovely town of

tumut . here's a pic of my doings after a

hard days ride

this morning im heading to canberra via

wee jasper heres some pics

















the last time i was here the river was just a small

stream under the bridge, now its part of a lake

















now a little side trip to see what the

murrumbidgee river looks like










well, there's certainly alot more water here than the last time

i was here . this area is the upper reaches of burrunjuckdam


from here i did a u turn and headed for canberra on

mountain creek road





end of the dirt and end of the story

from here its a boring freeway bound 3 hrs

to home.

WOW!! This looks like it was an AWESOME trip! That roller coaster road looks like a lot of fun. Great pics and info!

Now I want to take a week off of work and head west in my country to explore.
