Riding the PNW with Mr. Cob
I go on a lot of rides with my neighbor Mr. Cob around where we live in Washington State. I figured I could start an ongoing thread of our rides.
04-08-2012 - Mountain Loop Highway
The Mt Loop is a seasonal loop that goes over Barlow Pass near Monte Cristo, an abandoned mining town. It starts in Granite Falls and comes back through Darrington and then Arlington. In the winter months it closes at Deer Creek about 22mi past Granite Falls. I eagerly await its opening every year. We just went for a quick afternoon ride this time.
Gate at Pilchuck.. used to be an open playground for bikes, hiking, and skiing for 40+ years. RIP

Cool video and photos thanks for posting them. Years ago before all the gates there were MANY neat old logging roads that one could play on off of the Mountain Loop Hwy, now there are very few that a person can ride and they are all dead end roads you can't make loops any more.
The new experimental clutch setup is working VERY WELL, with luck next weekend we'll be able to give it a real work out at the not to EVER be disclosed test area.
