Nice travels Steve. The food joint, White Dotte, in the back ground of this shot....I highly recommend it. Good old fashion burger/ice cream joint. Great prices too. Wife and I eat there at least twice a month.

LOL...not me on that oversized moped.

Yeah, we can let you know. We just stopped there yesterday for dessert, after grocery shopping.

We reach Frenchtown and the Bridge Cafe.

This is Frenchtown's original Train Station from aroud 1850.

It was a little cramped in there.
The back section you see is the sitting area.
We were in the glass enclosed area.
The entrance has Ice Cream and Goodies and a bunch of nick-nacks to take pictures of !

Gotta love the Reserved for Motorcycles Parking area next to the Cafe.

I thought those were carpenter's tools until I looked at it more closely.
Those are the old tools of the trade for meat processing !

The cow gave it away !

I liked both of these signs, but the one on the bottom still makes me laugh !

This is an Alfred Hitchcock picture of the nice tin ceiling and walls !

One happy moon.

Someone said this looked like a Shad.
Which it probably is because they do have a Shad Festival along the Delaware River every year.

I do not think the real fish is that colorful ! ! !

I guess this is after it is eaten !

And the goodies.

One of the gentlemen from this ADV website joined us here for lunch.

That is an European KTM, if I remember correctly.

Showing off the tail light.

Not from our group but the graphics were interesting.

We head back south toward our next stop and pass a lot of motorcycles on this nice gorgeous day.

I always enjoy the comradery amongst motorcyclists.

I had expected a lot of traffic because of the fall foliage and the beautiful day we were having, but that never happened.
I am not complaining for sure.

Our KTM buddy followed us to the next stop and got his tires dirty ! ! !

Sorry about that !

Unfortunately he could not stick around and he had to leave before we trekked out to Goat Hill Overlook.

A short walk on a fairly easy trail leads to this.

A beautiful overlook of the Delaware River looking north.
Lambertville, NJ is on the right side and New Hope, PA is on the left side of the river.

We did a short devotional and looked for more adventure.

I had read about General George Washington standing upon a rock and viewing his troops across the Delaware River in Pennsylvania.
He was wanting to make sure he was concealed enough for when the British looked from the same spot.
Washington had ordered all of the boats on the New Jersey side of the river taken to Pennsylvania so the British could not follow him.

This is the rock that looks like the one I saw in a picture.
It was at the end of a path so this had to be the spot.

I am pretty sure the condos were not there then !

Not sure about the falls.
Looks like someone had a mill over there at one time.

George Washington Stood Here.

Enjoying the scenery.

Time to head back on our way.
But not before some graffiti.

It was all natural and biodegradable.

If you can not read it I will not disclose who it was ! ! !

The gentleman on the right is also an ADV'er here.
Nice to have you join us on our trip.
He rode over to New Jersey from Pennsylvania to join us.

Onto some more nice back roads on our way to a final pit stop before heading home.

Got there just in time too !

They were loading up the only bathrooms we could find in the park ! ! !

Come out and see what we did in 2012, and what we are planning for 2013.

Hope to see you there.

I looked through the 2012 thread, very nice . i would like to ride with the group if you head up North a little or along the shore. The Toms River ride that got cancelled would have been perfect. I won't be able to make the meeting, however I will monitor the thread for your upcoming rides.

It would be great to have you ride with us.

I will post every ride on here so everyone knows what is coming up.

First ride will be in April and we will be going from Buena to Cape May.

Second ride in June I am planning on redoing the August ride from 2012 beings almost everyone missed it. But that is on the Western side of NJ.

I have wanted to get up to the Twin Lights of Navasink. Not sure if I will do that this year or not.

I am letting people in the group that have given me ideas plan rides for the months in between. I figured that they have the idea, let them run with it.
Then all I have to do is follow !

Gearing up for 2013.

Our FIRST trip for 2013 will be to Cape May, NJ.

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Meeting as usual at the Buena WAWA at the intersection of Routes 40 & 54.

Be there by 8:15 AM and fill up your gas tank.
Leaving the parking lot at 8:30

110 Mile round trip

* Heading down Route 40 to Route 50 and cutting across from Tuckahoe to Dennis Township
to catch Route 47 and then turn onto what becomes Seashore Road in Cape May.

* First stop will be the Cape May Lighthouse.
Built in 1859 at 157' 6" tall this is the third lighthouse in Cape May.
There is a beach area with some remains from World War II, Fort Miles.
There is also a small Museum on the area's Natural and Historic Features.
We will spend about an hour here looking around.
The lighthouse does have tours and they are supposed to be open.
There is a fee for going into the lighthouse plus 199 steps up, and down !
Everything else here is free.

* A short ride to Cape May Point.
Here you can see the remains of the S.S. Atlantus Concrete Ship.
This ship was made out of concrete, yes, you read that right, during WWI to conserve metal.
There is not much left of it now but it's remains are still visible.
It ran aground here in 1926 while it was being towed to another location.

Also located here is Fire Control Tower #23 built in 1942 as a lookout to locate enemy
ships during WWII and to give bearings to the 12" guns that were at Fort Miles.

* Lunch is being provided by Calvary Chapel Cape May which is an affiliate church of ours.
They will be preparing a simple BBQ with Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Salads and Drinks.
As of my last conversation with their Pastor there will be no cost to us.
They are graciously providing our meals.

We are looking to a great time of fellowship with the Church in Cape May,
and an invitation has been given to any of their riders who want to ride back to Buena with us.

If any one is interested in joining us on this ride please let me know because I need to
give the Church a head count so they know how many people to provide food for.

I hope some of you can join us.
There will be no traffic this time of year !
