Ha ha, two similar words that give that sentence completely different meanings!

Also, Noah! I need my fix! We need an update! Found a new radiator yet??

I'm an American living/working in North East Vietnam. I'm in Cẩm Phả in Quang Ninh province. I'm also a bleed-orange KTM guy but haven't been able to find one here so I had to settle for something else. I have a Honda XR 250 and my wife has a TTR 250. I have a 300 2T back in Hawaii for the dirt and I just sold my 2013 KTM500EXC with motard wheels in July before coming here.

Let me know if you make it over this way. Maybe I can take a few days off and ride a little with you. Or we can at least have a some bia hoi (draft beer) if the timing doesn't work out.

I follow your thread pretty consistently. My dream is to "ride home". Our home base is Hawaii so I want to try to ride across Asia, Europe, and North America to the West coast once our time here is done (at least another three years). We hope to ride around SE Asia in the mean time as we get time.

I think he's well aware of that.

Noah,
I am embarrased to admit how much of my free time this week has been spent reading the entire thread from post #1! Your ability to convey your experiences through beautiful photos and narration is amazing. I anxiously await more posts and photos! I honestly don't know how you take so many excellent photographs!
You have inspired me to do a couple of things: 1. Take more pictures when on trips. I often return home from a two or three day bike ride with nothing more than a few pictures on my iPhone to share with my family. 2. LEARN MORE ABOUT MY BIKES! I have made my schedule, family, responsibilities and ability to pay others an excuse to no longer do any wrenching on my bikes. I have come to the conclusion that I must learn how to do more than just change an oil/air filter if I ever plan on doing any type of motorcycle travelling. 3. Maybe I CAN do an extended ADV trip. Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to to it pre-career/wife/kids/mortgage BUT who's to say I couldn't start with a TAT crossing with my 7 year old boy in a few years when he gets his license!? (He's getting plenty of experience now on his KTM 50 at the MX track!)
Again, sincere thanks and please keep it coming!
Eddy

I hear that KTMmitch is sending a lightly used radiator to Noah. Lots of KTM dealers in Japan but you pay full price for parts.

Hey all, I'll try to get an update soon. I realize I'm over a month behind again.

Sorry to waist you free time.
I hope you can do the Tat with you son. That should be an amazing trip.

This is true. KTMmitch sent me a radiator. Cheaper having him ship from the UK than buy from KTM shop in Japan. Plus, no shop in Japan had one. I just looked at the DHL tracking and the radiator is in Osaka. I should have it on Monday which will give me enough time to make it to MotoGP in Motegi.

You need to get out more--that's an old Rodney Dangerfield line.

I plan on going to the MotoGP in Motegi. While I'm there I'll check out the "Honda Collection Hall". I really want to see the old RC166 (250cc 6 cylinder) and some of the other crazy old hondas.

Wow that sounds insane! What is gained by going to a six cylinder vs a single or twin in 250cc?

A bazillion RPM's and horsepower up there. These little things (pictured below) do not make torque. Back in the day, Mr. Honda hated two stroke engines, and put his efforts into four cycle engines.

Japan huh? You got balls or maybe it's lack of sense?! Hope you're carrying iodine pills and in the least one of those radiation dose stickers. Don't even want to think about the food.
