3. Those 2 scooters with the family and the other with chickens who just crashed into each other? They aren't mad. The cops won't be called. No money or information will be exchanged. Things just happen.
4. You will crash.
5. You will get forced off the road by a bus, truck, car, tuk tuk, or other motorbikes.
6. A sign with Xe May = moto mechanic. A sign with Pho = soup/food. Cafe = Coffee.. not cafe. Usually no food sold there.
7. Ho Chi Minh Trail is infinitely better then Highway 1 on the coast.
8. You might die.
9. Buy your bike from another foreigner or prepare to get ripped off.
10. It only takes about $140 for a full rebuild of a Honda 110 motor. So don't worry if the bike you are on is questionable. It has blown up before. And it will blow up again. You just have to find the shop that has the good machine tools. (They are in every village.)
11. You will say Fuck more times then you ever have in your life. WTF, Are you F##king kidding me?, Really.. that's what you are F##king doing?!?!, Ohhh f##k... this is it.. I'm dead.
This is how you know a fun update is coming

Great pix and reports! It's wild and wooly riding in so much of the world. The larger vehicle gets priority, all others fall lower in mass order, with pedestrians on the lowest "give-way" rank.

Yeah... but the way you cross the street.. is just start walking across and make eye contact with the people coming at you. Make sure the chick on the scooter coming at you isn't looking at her iphone. She might hit you then.. otherwise, you just keep moving across the street and they move around you.
That's what this lady is doing.. but she is crazy.. this is a 4 way intersection and she is j-walking

I don't make eye contact, because they try and psyke you out and think you'll move because you've seen them coming, and seem to aim at you. Hand outstretched, steady pace across the road. Never thought about the iPhones... mustn't be my time to die!
I did a heap of Vietnam on a Win, bloody awesome. The mountain roads going south from Loc Lak... I'll never forget it. Also great for the missus confidence, riding a scooter solo, and overtaking the tourists doing pillion tours the back of CB250's.

I wouldn't be too concerned about Thailand. If anyone can hold an anarchist protest and still be a safe tourist destination, it's the Thai. This happens every five years, and I don't think there's ever been a foreigner killed as a result.

Keep on keeping on, dude. We're all entertained!

Damn! Your video is blocked on this stupid oil rig, probably wouldn't work anyway with the wimpy bandwidth we get via satellite.

Great video!

Thanks for posting. Looks like a ton of fun. Especially since you were wearing a t-shirt and it is a balmy -14F out right now.

Reminds me of the PI. Similar traffic 'rules'. I used to think I would never be able to drive in that environment, but after having rented a motorbike a couple of times now, I start to realize there is a certain harmony to it.
