I've been staying with Guiltyparty for the last week or so. On Thursday he is taking 2.5 weeks off of work and we are riding into the outback. We will do the Simpson desert then he he will come back to work and I'll continue on. Yesterday we met up with David Darcey of "Continental Drift" fame. In 2012 they took 2 690s from London to Australia and made some cool videos. In May a few of the crossed the Simpson. It was good to get some pointers and tips. Also David is letting me borrow his 12 liter fuel bladder. I'll have to carry 20 liters extra water and 15 liters extra fuel. But there aren't many non-Australians who can say they have crossed the Simpson. Since we have to carry so much extra fuel and water, I won't be riding with my computer or any other luxuries. So after Thursday.. expect some silence for a few weeks till I get to Darwin where I'll send some stuff ahead of me.

The handing of the bladder.

I've got another bladder here if you want to borrow it. About 8 or 9 litres IIRC. The top bit of crap strapped on the back in this shot.

Lousy small pic, but wanted to say thanks for the inspiration Noah!

That's right, KTM: I've been following Noah and his trip for a while now and both are a big reason for my latest purchase. My new to me 2010 690 R.

Thanks and have fun in OZ!

Noah,
Discovered your ride report and slowly catching up -- I'm on page 80 or so, at the beginning of your snowboarding in Georgia phase, and it's a real page clicker! Maybe if you're comm out for a bit that will give me a chance to catch up.

Thanks for sharing and taking us all along on your adventure - the pics, descriptions, and stories are inspiring and great to read through. Cheers and best wishes!

You do know that you can choose the size of the pic you embed from flickr, right?

Just reading through and saw your plan for Aus. You probably have it planned out but if you head south into South Australia then north you will be able to ride the flinders ranges, some of the best adv riding in Aus. Let me know if you want more info.

Noah,

I have been following your ride report for quite awhile, but I don't get to get caught up as much as I would like to. I am wanting to know what the mileage on your odometer is at? You have been on the road for a long time. Keep it going. If you decide to make your way to Atlanta, there is a BBQ waiting for you, along with a group of people to hangout with.

Dean

Read his signature line, if he's updating it.
He's also updating his first post with the main info from time to time.

I just got caught up after reading this whole ride report! It's kind of disorienting getting to the live end of such a long tale, moving from history to the present. Now I'm stuck craving updates with everyone else.

Thank you, Noah, for the great story so far! More videos please! Special request: get a video of your next tire change demonstration in the field.
