People do it all the time on bigger and smaller bikes, commonly used by over 1000 people every year by 4x4 and moto, I just wanted to know the 690's (specifically) fuel consumption rates, cheers

Running on back roads loaded my 690 uses 3.8/100km doing 60-80 kmh or 40-50 mph

Eh, everyone that is starved of a Noah update, like me. Swing over to the Ozzie regions form. Link here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1004342 and follow Scot. It's real time and happening now. What he is attempting is quite surreal. Unlikely to be beaten any time soon. Remember Oz is a little wider than the lower 48 and most of his route is "off piste"

2 Days

Two 24 hour shifts at work later, I just read this entire thread. Your story is incredible and inspiring. Keep up the amazing journey, I look forward to seeing what comes next. If you ever head back up to Fairbanks, you have a place available anytime.

PS - you have solidified the idea of my next bike being a 690 enduro. My wallet thanks you in adcance.

What took 4 days in bali took 4 hours in Sydney. Thanks for the use of the pressure washer!

Bike is getting dropped off at the freight forwarder tomorrow. I'll fly out to NZ on Saturday I think. Bring on NZ!

Looking forward to some updates after you get things taken care of with the bike.

"NZ lover" here (2011 and 2012): methinks it's a good thing Kiwi Land is so far from everything else, otherwise it would be overrun...
