On a side note, I found yet another location NOT to mount my video camera. I tried crash bars, but the vibes were too bad under hard acceleration / over 4500RPM. ON this trip, I tried the mirror stalk. This resulted in some freaky bendy weird video. I will have to edit out a sample for y'all to see. It was really trippy..

Friday = cooked crawfish at work...
Saturday = ADV techday
Sunday = a rough morning...

Got up this morning and was NOT doing well. Made it through playing with the band at church, took a short nap, and realized weather was perfect, Wee had new shoes, oil, etc from the tech day... It was calling me...

So i started out at Shucker's Oyster Bar, parking my Japanese ride in the middle of The Motor Company bikes... like this one:


If any of you are planning a Natchez Trace trip anytime soon, be advised... A few miles are "closed" just North West of Jackson, MS




Stopped by the Natchez Trace Visitors Center


Headed northeast on the Trace, with no real destination, just following the front tire...
Stopped by the "West Florida Boundary"






Pulled off the Trace next to the Ross Barnett Reservoir to enjoy the shade, wind, and waves...






Had new tires, oil, etc for the Wee, so i wanted to test out the new tread on gravel, so I headed into the Pearl River WMA

Thought this was a wooden bridge last time I was here...

Or the "Harley Highway" as some locals call it


The backside of the WMA is gate, but has space beside the gate for a bike to pass, but someone doesn't like that.


On previous trips, we found a old phone line cord ties across the gap at neck level. This time there was an old piece of chicken wire that had been torn down. With my side bags, I had to use the horse trail to get by...

Old Courthouse in Canton, MS (also made famous in movies like "A Time To Kill", "my Dog Skip" and others...)


If I remember correctly, this was the lawyers office in A Time To Kill (played by Matthew McConaughey)


You never know what you will run into on MS backroads...

Near Flora, MS, I stumbled across a series of "bunkers" I had seen previously but forgotten about...

Mississippi's first ammunition plant was built in Flora at a cost of $15 million to support our efforts in World War II. Workers installed special telephones, water fountains, and other equipment needed to reduce the possibility of sparks and serious accidents. Bunkers were built to store the ammunition in close to the rail lines at Kearney Park. Remnants of the old ammunition plant can be viewed by driving around the Kearney Park area. Several of the old buildings are being used today for warehousing and some for small business ventures.

Stopped by this old store to check my phone


Realized I was pretty close to the our local tag... 17 miles away, so off i went through more farm land








One heck of a horse barn!


I get to the local tag and grab it. The gate leads to a 1830's "kit house"
But is too far back on private property...


And I put out a new tag!




Headed on back to the house via backroads...










Made it back home safely and enjoyed the afternoon!

You were WAY north of me then! You gotta watch MS dirt roads. Each county seems to have different soil types, gravel sizes, gravel depths, etc. You and the bike okay?

I was running a little behind schedule thanks to the breakfast stop, so I arrived at AntiCyclone's house and he was sitting there waiting on me...
