Feeler Gages
Anyone know a good place to buy individual feel gauges? I have looked on line and all I can find is sets. I have checked local hardware stores, they don't have any. Don't need set, need .15m and .3m for doing valve adjustment.

^^ those are the bombdiggity! and you get two of each...so you can get the exact same amount of drag on both exhaust/intake valves.

Napa
Bought a multi non angled from NAPA. Service Tools/Delux Feeler Guage/ item # 161. About $10
http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...161_0293962666 Remove the 2 you need (.006/.012) they will fit both valves simultaneously, drag from the center of the blade & compare the resistance. The rest can be used for whatever/spark plugs/rocker arm endplay....

Correct sizes for the oilheads
I tracked down my local mobile Wurth truck a while back and got the guy to get me some Wurth feelers (same as Beemer Boneyard). I know the plastic ends are a bit gimmicky, but I love the amount of feel I get with them. And I love the wider blade. I have numerous sets of other feelers, long, short, straight, bent, but none are as good to use as the Wurth ones.

Just go to sears and get the big feeler set. I think it was $10?
Undo the screw, take out the relevant feelers and create two separate sets for intake and exhaust using a little machine bolt and nuts. Done. Every sears and or auto parts place will have a feeler set like this. Looks like a Swiss army knife. Make two separate sub sets like this: .13 to .23 for intake valves .3 to .4 for exhaust valves 5 feelers each and the increments are sufficient to determine in or out of spec. Someone gave me this advice and it has served me well:) |

I got mine from McMaster Carr. They were nice and long, sheared in half and now I have two.
