F650 gs twin(2009). Stalling. Help

My bike stalls while in motion like it has no gas . I recently added new gas and the BMW cleaner and things appeared ok. Was riding In cooler weather with full tanks of gas and things were goog. Today it ws 80and the tank was down to the warning light. While riding up and down hills the problem started again. Bike stalls when in motion. I slow down to a stop hit the starter and off I go. A couple of minutes later we do it all over again. Any ideas.

Have you had the Y fitting mounted to the bottom side of the Charcoal canister.... Also for kicks...fill up the tank and see if it gets better......

There was also a recall for fuel senders that were not registering correctly.

I would call in the VIN to the dealer and see if there are any outstanding recalls that have not been completed.

Stalling is not a completely unknown issue with these bikes....
Two or three tanks of fuel with 4 ounces of Techron Fuel System cleaner might square you away...

There is a long thread of similar issue here:

Finally gave up. Heading to Bobs

BMW bikes are great .... When they run....at this point I don,t trust the bike to go the local grocery. Should have kept the dependable 1150 GSA... So I am off to Md from Ohio to find a mechanic who might be able to fix this dog

Kent-- after 2 trips to the dealer(750 miles round trip) with no change in the stalling issue, I tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. The computer reset to the default setting and no more stalling.

What I came away with is BMW has no idea what causes the issue and if a simple fix doesn't work U are in for much frustration. GL.

Tried That Routine..worked temporarily

I had set up an appointment earlier this month. Bobs mechanic suggested the same thing. I disconnected the battery and reset the computer and added the BMW injector cleaner. Worked great for two tanks of gas. Cancelled my appointment. Wrong.. On a warm day while riding around the national park I once again enjoyed the experience of having the bike stall out every three minutes. Was a long ride home...FYI the bike just quits when I slow down or when stopped making it an interesting experience with traffic. Hopefully Bobs mechanics can figure it out. The local guys in Ohio appear clueless..

I'm starting to feel the same way an miss the 1150s solid dependability. I just had mine in for new injectors because it would not start and now it takes two or three tries to start, not good, not trustworthy yet. I hope it improves.

ealers had mine for a week checking out "everything." Told me it was not the fuel pump, etc. They reflashed the ECU and said they could not repeat my problem. Been a month and no problems so far. ???

I'm wondering if your battery connection was loose and perhaps creating electrical issues. With all the vibes that thing has to be crazy tight to stay connected solid.

cheers,
Mark
