500 Km Rattle?
Got the triple black 2 days ago and racked up 500 Km, but the motor sounds noisy when I dont have the clutch pulled in and its in neutral? Is this normal or must I worry? Maybe its the oil they use during the first 1000km? I thought my days of rattly motor had come to an end after the KTM........
P.S. Checked the oil - Ran it till the fan came on and then another minute and the oil level was fine.

Will it go away or get louder?

Mine has stayed the same since I bought it, only have 14K miles. Nature of the beast I guess. From what I understand it's not the motor but the clutch/gears.

I would guess it is the clutch noise as well. But mine gets louder as I approach the oil change, after an oil change, it quiets down.
I would describe mine as kind of a grumbly grindy noise... not really a rattle... I change my oil every 3k miles. I have around 17k miles now. Ryan

I asked about this a while ago as well. I got the same answers that it was normal. My bike has 4500miles on it now and has sounded the same since day one. Clutch out idling in neutral there is a rattle, pull clutch in and rattle goes away. I guess its just one of those things.

On some of the older models....I recall reading something regarding one possible a few loose clutch springs....... but mine has a little " clutch noise" at just over 10000 miles.... As long as it goes away when you pull the clutch..... I would consider that normal..... Let'er rip...

Borrow a Ducati for a day and it will sound/feel silky smooth.

Probably just the clutch plates rattling around in the clutch basket. Pretty normal. Yeah, listen to a Ducati (dry clutch) with an open clutch cover.
