1.125 or 1.250 O.D. .060 wall 304 stainless exhaust tube - source?

I'm modding the exhaust on my pit bike and am having a heck of a time finding a source for 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 OD thin wall tube...

Anyone have any suggestions?

McMaster-Carr 89895K278. 1 foot for 20 bucks.

Also, try a big supplier like Ryerson.

I like mcmaster for lots of things, but not stainless tubing.

onlinemetals.com is my preferred source for stainless tubing.

Why I couldn't find that when I searched MC is beyond me... thanks for that...

What gives? Just because I mention pit bike you guys assume my project is some kind of hack-job? I guess if I would have posted up for help sourcing exhaust tubing for a custom high-mount GSA adventure-cafe-latte exhaust everyone would be begging for picks of my bike porn. It's not like I asked for heat resistant duct tape or something...

Thanks all others for the supplier suggestions... I will check those out

How much do you need?

I can get 1.25x.060 304 polished ss tube fairly cheap but then mailing cost will add some. Where are you?

edit: Here is another thought. Are there any welding shops that service food processing plants or a dairy close by? The tubing is called 'sanitary pipe'.

He's "apparently" saying that because it's for a pit bike, don't waste the coin and go to Home Depot and buy some conduit and a hand bender. I laughed to, but it's actually not a bad idea, esp for a trial run to see how the bends will go. Are you working off an existing pipe?

Some people pretend to be helpful but are just giddy to see others fail. Product of spending too much time in JoMamma.

Good luck, my first SS exhaust project came out fine for a rookie SS tig job. It wasn't perfect, which was perfect, because I wasn't expecting it to. I wrapped the pipe in some super secret header wrap for the badass look, and to reduce heat. Or to hide my less than stellar welds.

Post up your questions there's tons of really talented fabricators and welders here that can give you better advice than I can.

Someone mentioned header wrap in another post. If you are going to wrap it or if it is your first build, why not start off with MS? It's a lot easier to work with, quite a bit cheaper and for you application you'd never notice a difference in performance. Plus if you are wrapping it then no one even knows you started with SS!

1.125" is pretty small and I don't have a ready supplier of it. Most people with looking for the dimension I send to Classic Tube, http://www.classictube.com/products/exhaust-tubes they are not inexpensive though.
