Take the bike back to the shop. It ought to take BMW at least a month to diagnose the missing bolt and another month to find it's replacement.

And it's your fault for losing the bolt.

if I was you I wouldnt put another screw in it if I was taking it back to bmw.they could claim you stripped the threads if they are stripped .let them replace the bolt.

I was kidding. All the oil on the engine is from the loose rocker cover. GRAVITY ... remember shit flows down hill.

Take it back to BMW and have them buy you a simple used Jap dualsport. Then you'd actually spend more time riding than going to visit your bike in the shop. I dare say, you could probably even fix whatever issues cropped yourself, with parts that you could have delivered to your home...practically overnight. Hell, have them buy you TWO, so you have a spare to ride while your other one is waiting a day or so for parts.

Never rush the tech who is working on your bike!

That is truly shocking...another reason I never take my bikes to a shop. The last one I thought might have to go, I just parted it out instead! Much easier on me that way.
