Also, being cheap doesn't mean that the materials I used to fix the guard were not up to the job. The Hard but reasonably flexible rubber/plastic I used is about 8mm thick and will be far superior to the original material that the guard is made from. Indeed, I'm seriously thinking of doing the other side the same way before it breaks.

I can't talk too much crap, I hear rocks going between my front guard and the Karoos. I think I'll get the extensions for that reason. I DEFINITELY removed the brake lines from the plastic routing and recommend doing that to any XC owner.

Maybe your Karoos pick up more stones because I don't hear that with the Mefos that I use.

If I'd seen this thread before buying my '13 XC last week, I might have kept the Strom.

Fingers crossed and notes taken so I'm not as befuddled as others have been.

Ever bike has its issues. I have had mine for nearly 5 months, 7500 miles with no issues at all.

You will NOT regret buying it. I assure you! My dad bought the 2014 1200GS and although the electronics on that thing are wicked, he asked if i wanted to trade bikes for a bit while on a ride and i say NOPE! Love my Daisy! That triple is amazing both on and off road!

One year, just hit 10K miles. Only issue is I can't keep it clean and no matter how hard I try it keeps taking side trails and trying to follow small bikes

Be easy, you'll still sport wood riding, cleaning, modding, and thinking about this bike daily

Mine 6500 miles and no issues whatsoever, though I'm not flogging mine as much as boinoodle is

Congrats! You are gonna love the Tiger.

I cranked out 16,000 miles in the first year and had absolutely no issues.

Hope you don't go through what I have been through. After 7000 miles I am finally hoping I have a bike that doesn't have any more problems.

But that didn't solve the problem.
I spoke to our local Triumph agents and the starter motor was worn out, the brushes were shot and there was a groove worn into the commutator.
I have the old motor, and am going to see if I can get it reconditioned.
I had this problem . Check post #737
