Right Pannier Out of Whack....

this is my first post on the forum (joined last week). After visiting my dealer, I forgot to shut my right side pannier on the R1200GSA (oil)... I rode for about 7 miles on the freeway before I noticed. the lid was open all the way and held at 180 degree angle by the wire. Once I pulled over and tried to shut it, it did so but it has a bit of a misalignment. Doesn't fit quite flush like the left. It feel almost like it's spring loaded, meaning I have to put a bit of pressure to close it and lock it. Not a big deal but thought if someone had similar experience (dumb mistake) and there is an easy fix, I'd like to know. I tried pushing and twisting gently but no results. Thx in advance for any suggestions.

You must be referring to a very recent model year?

The cases open with the lids facing towards the front? Surely not!

Without pictures, my guess is that the latch is now bent from the force applied by the air flow.

The cases open with the lids facing towards the front? OMFG!

The adventure cases have had the latches/hinges on both ends of the lid for years. One of mine got bent slightly and I just worked on it a little with a block of wood and a mallet to get it back in shape.

My fix, I never use the front latch unless removing the lid entirely.
Doesn't fix your issue though.

Thank you.... I actually learned that I can access the panniers from either side.... Not sure why I used the front... Live and learn. Best forum on the web!
