Since the Blues Fest in Arnold got canceled, Arnold is hosting a rally 13 - 15 called Devil's Den Rally. Looks like it may be mostly cruiser/biker types. Anyone interested?

I hear ya. I would have had to ask my wife for money. I would rather try and pull a tooth from a live 20 foot great white shark.

devils den rally

Just got back from Arnold and DD rally route. Broken Bow - Callaway - Arnold - Dunning - Anselmo - Merna and back to BB. Very nice back roads with virtually no one and nothing on them. Glad I am to find something other than straight and flat.

News says 95% contained as of July 5 itch mopping up. It'll be interesting to see if the new campground areas still under construction are damaged.

Well, I had a hell of a ride today. Got a flat 6 miles west of Kearney on HWY30. I rode it to Elm Creek and assessed the damage. Tire looked ok. I filled it with 30lbs and checked it 2 minutes later. It was almost flat. I thought about it over a gatorade. It was either call the wife and have her bring the truck or go for it. I would have to put 250lbs in it to make it home the way it was leaking. I filled it with 50lbs and told myself "no rear brake" and gave it hell. I didnt make it across the interstate and it was flat again. I pulled off to the side of the road at the 18 miles to go mark. Bead broke on the tire this time and the tube was balled up. Had a can of fix a flat in my bag. I figured that might get me a few more miles. I put half a can in it and took off. Went down a few sandy roads and couldnt go over 40mph due to the vibration but it held up. Hope I didnt ruin the front axle or the tire. 2 hours later the tire is still up. It wasnt very smart but o well. Live and learn.

Carry a spare 21". The only time it's needed is when riding buds get a flat!

I brought my nephew home a 2009 KLX250 Sunday. We now have another rider in the group. Pretty tight bike. Got 7th in a bike show with $30K Harleys I guess. Only 621 miles on the girl. Some of you may have seen it on CL. I test rode it before he paid the guy and it ran out well. It sits in my shop and I told the nephew he better pull the key otherwise I would double the miles in no time. Its a dog down low but runs fair for a 250 in the upper rpm's.

My bike is back on the road. Doug is ready for a new set of tires again. Think he has 6,000 on his DR just this summer. Up to 33,000 miles on it now. Hopefully he'll get on ADV rider some day but he cant seem to answer the test question they ask you to get registered.

I found some awesome MMR roads north of the Orleans cemetery. I was informed that these were the Black forest roads. They were a blast. Also HW47 south of Gothenburg is awesome. I stayed on the HW but there is much to be explored over there. Guess theres some camping spots over by Brady. Later.

Gratuitous post...

Not so much a ride report, but I feel the need to let everyone in the area know that Broken Bow forming CMA chapter sponsored a Sturgis aid station at the Tumbleweed this weekend. Not so much adventure riding, but an adventure greeting and assisting the Sturgis bound. Same time next year!
