How about tomorrow, (Thursday the 10th) Late afternoon ride? I have a shock to rebuild this evening and if that works out I plan on riding some singletrack, perhaps spruce, on the old KDX. 5:00 is the earliest I would be out there if I can go.

Not likely going to ride today. I got the shock done just fine and... then sprung a rear master cylinder leak.

Going to LH today 5:30PM
I'm game for the spruce gulch ride today if someone wants to go with and not any later. Otherwise, I'll just ride the easy trails.

Fantastic riding yesterday, tcrider!
Chris - your 45min record remains quite safe. We made it from white rock to the bottom in 5 minutes flat, but had a few (welcome) 10+ minute breaks on the climbs to let the KDX cool off and refill the rads. I also discovered that extracting my bike out of the ditch full of deadfall next to the off-camber log crossing is less fun than one might think. Total roundtrip time was 1h 27m. Still had enough light to squeeze in a few loops around everything else though. Gotta love daylight savings. |

Yes, it was a great day to get an eavning ride in! I don't think I will be any threat to the 45 min. record anytime soon though, never mind the predictable cool-aid gyser my 200 likes to provide. It is fun to try though. So, untill next time Thump_co...

I was riding left hand this afternoon and my ego got the best of me after reading this thread, so I thought I'd see what kind of time I could do spruce in, 43min 24sec starting and ending at white rock.
Im not going to say it was pretty, I have the bent radiator from the crux to prove it ![]() This is the only trail I curse at the whole way through wishing I had a trials tire, don't worry I didn't leave too many trenches By the way, who ever built the log crossings at the bottom, nice job! |

Nice work!
Please tell me this wasn't on a 650?This may now require another attempt over the weekend. Credit for the big log crossing build goes to the OP. |

Haha thanks. I wish I had a 990.
I have no doubt someone can get under 40min and I think if you ride it clean 35min is not too much of a reach. The off camber log crossing coming back down it a little interesting. If it stays up all summer how many bikes will end up stuck down in the wash? Although it is deffently a grulling ride, on body and bike. I hope my bike it ok it was getting hot as hell and I had to let it cool down a few times. I rode the other trails for about and hour after I was done with Spruce and when I was coming down the shooting range trail I kicked up a boulder coming around a corner and it rolled under the skid plate and I dropped the bike. Very low speed, but when I picked it up and started it the engine was make an awful clicking noise. Im not sure what it is or how dropping the bike would do that, but Im hoping it is not related to over heating the bike...... Anyway good luck if you try it this weekend Thump |

I'm sure you'll have it back together by Inyan Kara. I just got my 300 back from a rebuild. Can't wait to ride it.
I was thinking of doing Angel Fire this weekend but other stuff is coming up. Expensive to travel right now.

No more go arounds or short cuts. Trees are cleared as of yesterday. Sorry to take some of the great features out but go arounds drive me crazy.
