I'll be around for a few months, and I thought you might be entertained by some of my exploits, although maybe not as exciting as Tibet.
First of all, I have been reunited with Thelma, my 1992 R80GS, I left her with friends in Mexico a while ago, and it seems to have taken me a long time to get back over to this side of the Atlantic to fetch her. We;ve been through a lot togehter including Africa, Australia, Mongolia, the 'Stans, Alaska to Ushuaia etc. I've started in Phoenix, Arizona at my friends' house, and my first port of call is going to be Chicago. I'll fill in the rest of the background stuff shortly, but first a quick couple of pics from early this morning, ![]() I'm making a quick getaway after camping in a farmer's field somewhere on the Texas and Oklahoma state line, I'm looking a bit concerned, but so would you if you had just spent the night in a tent that looks like this... ![]() One of the poles broke as I was setting up my tent last night, it's not repairable, and so I had to make do with attempting to sleep in something that looked like it should have been put in the rubbish a while ago. Being thankful for small mercies however, I suppose I should look on the bright side that at the moment I'm on the road solo and so I didn't have to squeeze anyone else in it.

Great place for a MC to rest
If you find yourself in New Mexico & going to call it a day or night end, Check out the Bunk & Dinner in Truth or Consequences, or commonly called "T or C". Colleen includes laundry, dinner & all the hot water you need. Very bike friendly. Plus there is a bike shop less than a mile from your Bunk. 607-toto7-forone37
Good luck on your ride. This country has everything. |

Well enjoy riding in the states. If you have a problem it'll be easy for you to find a large support group here. I bet you could stay a year here and plan it so you had a roof over your head every nite...., but where's the fun in that?

I didn't see anything in the Northeast on your schedule, but if that changes please post up. Have a fun and safe trip around the lower 48.

I'm in.
I'm in for this RR.
If you find yourself in northwest Colorado get in touch. My wife and I have plenty of room and live in a place with lots of fun riding nearby . It's not the Taj Mahal ....... but it's nicer than your poor little broken tent. ![]() I'll even let you put one of your stickers on my bike. ![]() Ride safe and enjoy your jaunt around the states! Regards, Rob

If you're coming through Calgary Alberta, give us a shout. Have a garage and lots of places to lay your hear for a few nights to do laundry etc... We met you in Seattle a couple years ago at a BMW dealer you were getting parts... This is the 100th Anniversary for the Calgary Stampede.... Good times...
