Pfffft! Haven't you been paying attention? The whole bike has to be welded to itself so it has no moving parts, it's going to bottom out on pebbles and will explode on contact with any kind of bump more extreme than a paint line on a freshly paved road. Only sickening metrosexuals would be seen dead near one of these, and probably will video themselves riding through a water puddle with their go pro.

I do like the fact that the R will have standard , tunable WP suspension.
and when I pull out to pass 20 trucks in the middle of Russia or the
Andes the increased power will come in handy.
Hopefully they will have the abs system better sorted than on the
990.
Since TuneECU is already supporting the 1190 RC8 I'm expecting
them to be up to speed on this bike by the time it gets to the US.

Also on the standard 1190 Adventure.

My heart says R, but my head says standard (to possibly replace the GSA in 2014).

I have the Berg for the tight stuff anyways.

Sadly what I've been told by someone higher up at KTM is the 1190s won't be at any of the North American shows.

"It's just too early to show it since it doesn't come out until this time next year since it still has to go through all the testing/DOT stuff etc".

I certainly hope they change their minds...keeping my fingers crossed anyhow.

Hi All
First post so big hello to all.
The new 1190 looks great, i was wondering if because the motor looks to be mostly the same as an RC8 "somebody" would be able to get a head start on a CJC clutch cover and rekluse clutch combo
Already have a Rekluse EXE on my prsent LC8 and checking on the KTM Fiche 990's and RC8's have the same slave cylinder so we are half way there!

Its no fact - only what Ive read but doesnt the new Adv have a slipper clutch? Rekluse disengages at low RPM anyway - would be an interesting combo???

Just saw that a Swedish dealer has priced the 1190.
1190 Adventure R: SEK 139 900 (USD 19 886).
1190 Adventure: SEK 138 900 (USD 19 744).

As a comparison the price of the 990 Adv R at the same dealer is SEK 137 900.

Don´t know what the price will be in the US of course, but it looks quite promising that the price of the new bike will be just marginally higher I think...
