I'd assume they are just as good as any other brand, a lot of parts are sourced anyways. I like the new VDO instrument cluster, the traditional KTM more off-road look instruments weren't that great I believe.
Wer'nt they?

Mine do what they need to and never broken.

What more do you want?

I can confirm that. I fired up the KTM UK 1190 Adv yesterday and it is loud for a stock exhaust. Sadly I didn't get to ride it as it's the bike imported for dealer tech training but I have placed an order

Hoping for the first test ride on a demonstrator in mid March.

I thought it would be even more in Finland.

This piece of equipment would be a great machine the whole year around in Scandinavia especially with spikes on the tyre!

Might trade in my B-King & DL650 for this one pending a test ride.

I only have bad references from friends that had them and said never again about KTM but believe this model should be good mechanical and all the rest.
Well you know any motorcycle can be a lemon and KTM adv has had it's share of issues, especially the early ones. I have an 06 model with 62000 km's on the clock with no problems, and i would buy the new 1190 in a blink of an eye, if i had the means. It's not 100% sure what the price will be here, a lot anyway. Having lived best part of my life, 30 years, in Australia, so you could say i know the place fairly well, and i honestly can't think of any motorcycle better suited for Australian conditions, than the new 1190.
And i don't even work for KTM

Did you have the chance to throw a leg over it? I am wondering how the static balance of the bike feels in comparison to the 990.

I've gone for the 1190 Adv not the R. This will be my first toe in the orange side and although I have tried it I am not a confident off-roader and most of my riding is tarmac. I am looking for a bike that is a genuine all rounder and that I can tackle a gravel road with.
In terms of height and static feel it seems a little shorter than the 990. I could just flat foot with shoes so bike boots would be even easier.
I suspect that there was little fuel in the bike and I forgot to look but it didn't feel at all top heavy.
The clutch action is so light I thought it was disconnected!

Will post my first reactions after a test ride.

Just curious, why isn't this discussion a sticky? Is that something that only the BMW guys need to find the discussion on the new GS?
