You'll love em! We'll see how well they wear on a 150HP bike though

is one of the reasons why I'm using them, to understand how long they last.
I can tell you that in case of holigan driving the TC works much more than with the conti's. To me this was a confirmation on how good this TC is.

Hi Igor,

These new Karoo's look great!

I'm very curious to know howe Karoo 3 is performing on tarmac in the rain. Please share your experience with the tyre.
I'm considering either the Karoo 3 or Heidenau Scout K60 for the winterperiod. I understood the Heidenau tyres might be approved for the 1190 early October.

According to this: http://blog.ktm.com/msc-three-letter...al-revolution/ and the previous post here, there is going to be an upgrade on the new model.

The questions are:

1) When is the 2014 model going to be release in the shops about ?
2) Is it worth for someone to wait for the new release ?
3) All the "problems" that are on the 2013 model, are going to be replaced by a recall to much the 2014 model, or not ? In other words, are there going to be any major changes in the engine for example or something else vital that is not going to be changed and its worth waiting almost a year for the new bike ?

Please do let me know what happens in such a scenario when a new model is released. I know that the new features can be bought and applied on older models, but what about problems that the first series may have.

Anyone know if the lower triple clamp is drilled and tapped for mounting a normal fender like the 9x0's were?
Can't believe I haven't seen a high fender on the new 1190 models yet.

I believe the blog said that production for the 2014 with the MSC won't start until December. That puts the release into the new year, or well into it, depending where you live.

Those tyres look great on that bike, I didn't think the 18 inch version was tubeless though?

Please tell me I am wrong and you have fitted that straight on the 1190R standard rim without having to modify to take a tube, if you have I will have a set of these on my bike as well.

Damnit.. Stupid fkn trailer d link let go after trailering it for its first service.. Bent my exhaust, front headlight fairing, right silver fairing n black fairing plus indicator.. Does anyone have prices on these bits?
I'm devastated.. Had the service done, bike had a new mapping n a few extras including uni filter.. Was hanging to ride it...

I will either buy fairings or fiberglass up the old ones, make moulds n make carbon fibre ones.... I liked the colours though..

N spewing hard about the exhaust, it's been on for like 2 weeks :(

Ouch... thats not how you want to scratch her!
You can get prices from here: http://www.ktmpartsonline.com/
You can go to the part finder page and pick the parts. That will give you an idea.
Next time you will ride it up there right? Its a great ride through Lerderderg!

Got to sit on the 1190r today, but demo rides cancelled due to heavy rains. I rode my 990 SMR to the dealer so was fresh off that bike when I sat on the 1190. I was surprised to be left kind of cold by the 1190. It just felt too big and heavy for me to think about doing much off road stuff on it. Honestly I felt that gravel roads would be more fun on my SMR since the SMR is lower and lighter and has a shorter wheelbase. I did some gravel stuff a month ago on the SMR and it was a hoot. Of course the SMR has 17 inch cast wheels and shorter travel stiffer suspension, so for real tough off road the Adventure R would be superior....but for that I have my 690r enduro. I thought I might be writing a deposit check for an 1190r and looking to sell my SMR, but no. The 1190 Adventure R is a fantastic bike, but it turns out not to be my cup of tea

If a dealer near you has a 2013 then they will be able to retrofit the MSC gubbins from the 2014 bike to the 2013 from December this year - at a cost mind you.

Of course there is scope to negotiate with the dealer on stuff like this if you are buying a 2013 spec bike towards the end of the year.............
