Second lifetime builds

Well after a bucket load of procrastination I FINALLY BIT THE BULLET and bought enough metal to build one for my R-65.

Started with 2 measurements from a friends hack. Main frame 20X40 inch.

All welded with closed frame rear with triangle bracing front with angle iron tub mount

2 trailer stub axles and hubs 4 on 4 bolt pattern recycled from small crap utility trailer has grease hubs, 530X12 wheeel and tire new

Total to date 20 ft 1.25X1.25 1/8th wall tube 42.00 CDN used 10ft.
57 inch 1X2X 1/8th wall 11.00 CDN used 15.750 inch
530 X 12 tire and rim Crappy Tire FULL Price 99.00 CDN
Utility body Crappy Tire ON Sale 119.99 CDN arrives in 3 weeks

TOTAL 271.99 CDN

I have 3 configurations planned for the sidecar, Slat deck for Kayak transport
Utility body for (GOLD STUFF)
Light weight chair setup canvas cover like an old plane for the other half

Completed so far the main frame and suspension unit.

I'm at the mercy of the weather for my at the corner welding and fab shop and 1 level concrete pad setup base.

Yah Yah pictures to follow of build 2 only the next time the sun shines here.

Build 1 Yamaha HT-1 90cc Enduro way before digital cameras around 40+ years ago I don't have any pictures of it Life and the court interupted Join the ARMY or go to Jail a life time ago now.

Build 2 1980 R-65 bone stock and bad carbs 1000.00 CDN and drove it home. Tremclad metal flake paint cost free. ( I didn't like the pumpkin orange and brown seat cover)

weather sucks

Another rainy afternoon and I do hate welding in the rain with no roof at the corner metal shop but I did manage to do the front upper mount and 1 hack frame mount. /5 /6 /7 mount kit as per 2003 sidecar manual page 60. but with a minor twist NO BALLS. Tomorrow it's work so no building until the weekend now.

Next to build is the bike's lower mount assembly, there's the twist, the wife says the dog has to have a helmet and doggles before she can go again (spoil sport). She was OK with building a kayak in the living room but the dog needs doggles.

The utility body won't arrive for 3 weeks we live in the north and we really pay freight. 17.00 CDN for mount clamps for the front upper and lower mounts and 1 spare for the tool kit.

Total now stands at 288.99 CDN
+20.00 CDN misc. metal
total update 308.99

About a year ago I sent a friend a kijiji listing for a 400 CDN brand new unassembled wild duck HACK well he came up last night with it mounted on his 1150 GSA BMW. I painted the car tub to mach his bike last week (looks real good in the dark) a coat of MUD should get me off the hook on that one. The leading link suspension left me short with every crack giving a jolt to the frame, Mine is trailing link should have a little better ride on pavement cracks.
