The ride across the paddock is a piece of piss, yes it's a long way, no it's not boring, yes the fuel is expensive, if you are on your own doesn't matter, as soon as you put on your helmet you are on your own anyway, you'll meet some real characters on the way ( could meet some loony walking along in a stormtroopers outfit, some silly asian on a postie, or lots of people riding pushies ) all great conversations waiting to take place.

If you are riding a GSA then you have the perfect bike to do it on, take it slow and do it in 4 days ( 5 from Tassie ), most of the roadhouses have camping areas out the back or many have motel rooms, good restaurants serving pub type meals, the road from Norseman to Hyden is dirt but is a highway, or stick to the black stuff. depends on when you want to do it, but if you combine it with the Border Run then you'll have company all the way across.

Some of the straights are not what you'd find in Tassie

The scenery around Eucla is breathtaking, whales can frequently be seen off the cliffs

Some of the people are weird bastards , take this drunken , leacherous old bastard ( Guzzimike ) in the middle of bumf@#k nowhere on the paddock.

There's work over here in the west if you want it, especially in the service industries because they lose their workers to the miners. The trick is to get a job in a service industry or local govt first to get established, then switch to the resource sector for the extra $$$.
Interesting. I'll have to have a look at that option too!

I have marine and logistics qualifications. Have applied for a stevedore job in Perth, but something in logistics is right up my alley.

Oops, left this thread open. Wife decides she now wants to do the trip with me...
Got a couple of irons in the Perth fire, so hopefully there'll be some developments soon.

Meico640. Got in touch with your company but didn't get the courtesy of a reply.
