Motorcycle Boots
Anybody know of a place besides Cycle Gear to look for Dual Sport Moto Boots?
After last summer riding over all those big rocks and crashing a few times, i think maybe i should get something a little more serous then the moto touring boots i have. I can't imagine trying to buy boots online... but may have to depending on what you all say...

I doubt you will find much of anything locally like you are looking for. I've bought almost all my gear on-line and it has cost me some return shipping on occasion, but for the most part it has worked out. One of my favorite places on-line for gear is http://www.atomic-moto.com/. If you have questions you can call them and they are happy to answer and give their opinions. I have actually had them call me to verify info on my order before possibly shipping the wrong item. No other on-line business has ever done that for me. No affiliation, just think they are a good company. They also break down their boots into categories like Adventure Riding and Dual Sport and often include their own opinions vs just the manufactures spiel. Come to think of it, there are several good on-line businesses I've dealt with that are very good so maybe I shouldn't be recommending just one...oh well to late!
I did not want full-on MX boots and went with the Sidi Adventure and have been happy with them. Since I bought them tho, Gaerne and Forma have both come out with boots aimed at the adventure market that i would also consider if i were buying again I wish there was someplace local with a good selection of DS gear, but I haven't found it. Good luck in your search. Quote:

It might be worth a ride down to Moto-Liberty, in Dallas. They have an extensive Sidi line as well as others. They ar not really an "off-road" gear supplier but they have a lot of boots that might work.

Moto gear
I just bought a new adventure jacket (Scorpion Commander 3) from Revzilla.
The people at Revzilla were very helpfull, they made sure that I got the right size. They told me, if for any reason it didn't fit, I could Exchange for another size at No charges ever. There shipping was fast too.

Adv jacket
I have been saving money and researching adv jackets for months. I finally pulled the trigger on the Scorpion Commander 3. Went on a short ride this morning (34 degrees). I just had on a long sleeve t shirt under jacket and I was fine. I am very happy with this jacket.

Sittin inside thinking about warmer days. Dreaming about better days with my old 640.
I just noticed a dent about 9:30 on the front wheel I never saw before, new owners will need to deal with it. That bike ate front wheels, must have been all the weight when fully fueled. ![]() Put about 1k worth of television equipment on EBAY today. It was probably 25k when new, talk about depreciation. |
