Dang I"m sorry to hear that.

A word of advice from an old off road rider. When in doubt, pin it. Get back on your seat, grab a handful of throttle, blip your clutch and get your front end up as much as possible. Even in a crossrut, you have about an 80% chance of saving it because your back wheel will track easier, and you'll just pull out of it. And if it doesn't, your gonna crash anyway! Might as well make it...glorious

And always remember. Any crash you walk away from is a good crash!

p.s. never, EVER tell your wife you crashed. Man up, pull up your panties, and avoid the subject at all costs. And only as a Last Resort... lie your ass off if you have too! It never turns out good for your riding future otherwise!

Glad to hear your gonna be okay.

My bikes new shoes finally got here! Now to get them on the bike. (New bike owner, everything is exciting? )

For those that remember me talking about my other project, it's on hold while I figure out effective underbody protection.

I agree, unless you find yourself in a situation like I did and had to call home and say, Honey, can you come pick me up from the hospital...in Durango, CO...I think I'll be released to go home in about three days!

*Actually she was pretty good about it, and when her Dad was ranting and telling her I need to quit riding, she told him "and what, sit in the recliner at home until he dies."

Dakar needed

I have a good friend that is in the market for a BMW Dakar. I told him I just sold one two weeks ago, but at the time he had a bike and wasn't interested in mine.

Then he got hit, totaled his bike and broke and his ankle, so now he's on the hunt.

If anyone has one or knows someone that is thinking of selling, let me know and I'll pass it along.

I've told him he needs to get on ADVrider and look around himself, but he's... old. nuff said.

We're Going to be on TV!

Hey OKC Metro riders - keep an eye on the Velocity Channel next Tuesday. We (3BR Powersports) are going to be their show, Performance TV.
The show airs Tuesday at 4:00 pm and next Sunday at noon. Velocity is channel 740 on Cox but I don't know what channel on Dish or U-verse, so as the Deep Voiced Dude says, "check your local listings."

We were invited to do a segment on installing one of our all-weather USB power ports on a bike of our choice. We chose a H-D Road King since we have one of our own that we've done installs on.

Kurt flew down from Wisconsin and we rode out to Johnson City TN for the shoot. He rode my Road King and I rode the KTM. It was a great ride except that we hit pouring rain in Little Rock that caused us to lose contact with one another. We didn't catch up with each other until that night in Jackson, TN.

After the shoot we met Kurt's local Wisconsin Suzuki dealer in Townsend, TN for some riding on the Tail of the Dragon and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Kurt's dealer had hauled his GSX-R 1000 down with their bikes so he could play a bit harder than he could riding the Roadie.
I always thought that California had the best riding in the US but Tennessee has some great roads with twisties combined with gorgeous scenery.

So - don't forget - Velocity Channel on Tuesday at 4:00pm, Performance TV!

Cheers,
-Shov

Cry

I checked my local listings for my DirectTv and it shows channel 181, which is not a used channel.
I went to velocity.discovery.com and used there channel search. Also shows 181.
Hopefully someone will post it on YouTube.

It is 281 on directTV. What's weird is I was at my folks house checking it out, and they have several receivers. It showed as an available channel on one and not available on another. But I did set the recorder.
