Thanks for the tip on Flex:Player! Just installed it on my iPhone and iPad, works great! I was rudely awakened when I tried to drag an .avi movie into iTunes and it wouldn't go in. Just tested it with Flex:Player and I'm good to go. Thanks!

Glad I could help. It's amazing how much stuff there is in the iVeGotYouNow, er, I mean iTunes store.

Pandora works faily well on the iPhone too. Just be sure to keep an eye on your data usage if you're on a limited or throttled plan.

I just installed a freebie from Columbia Sportswear called GPS PAL, which is oriented toward hiking but probably translates well to ADV usage in general.

In terms of overall usability the iPhone really seems to be tops. And it's easier to synch up to Outlook than a Droid, but of course not as easy as Windows Mobile.

In terms if usability I did notice something I got used to with my WM phone that the iPhone does not do, which is automatically bring up the most recent matching numbers /contacts when I start punching in numbers to dial. Oh well.

The Calendar icon always shows the current date. Why can't the Weather icon show the current temperature?

Why is it that every damn "smart" phone includes the most anemic possible calculator that has no more features than a forty plus year old original Bowmar Brain?

Just learned something else new... thanks

I'm coming over to an iPhone and iPad from an Android tablet and phone. I miss the flexibility of Android but I really like the smooth, stable experience of Apple. Just tired of freezes and force closes.

Yeah, what's up with the iPhone sound system. Does it not have a modern alert system, whereby one might use a slowly increasing volume setting for alarms?

I keep hearing irritating 2-3 second bursts of full-volume alarms all day from the Mac owners

So here's something that is somewhere between scary and amazing.

On 5th Avenue in midtown Manhattan there is an Apple store that is open 24x7. I walked in there a few minutes before midnight and the place was wall to wall people. I counted at least forty employees on the floor. One of them said there's 90-100 people working there per shift and the crowds don't fall off until 2am.

It's incredible to think that at 430am you can't even buy a drink at a bar but you can get an Apple nerd to fix or accessorize your iThingy right on the spot.

Yes. You need Siri to dictate and read voice messages. I compose, send, and receive text messages via a SENA SMH10 with no issues while riding down the road. The same with voice calls. One touch to the side of the helmet, the rest is voice.
