patches, stickers and paperwork

I got somesort of a logo done and had these things made.

Sowed one of the smaller patches on the jacket

And I also received some Russian paperwork With everything signed I sent it out to a visa agency, fingers crossed........

The website is done, I got rid off the last little bugs.
We bought a plane ticket for my girlfriend to come over and join me for two weeks in Georgia and Armenia in October.

The festival, last week, was great but due to time limitations we did not go by bike and I forgot my camera so no pictures... sorry

Looking awesome! Where did you get those patches made (and more importantly, since we're Dutch, how much did it cost)?

Dutch cheap-ass-ness

Well have a look at: http://www.grafiekas.nl/
In total € 130,-
4 x € 12,50 for the small once (10 cm)
2 x € 25,00 for the large once (25 cm)
1 x € 30,00 for file conversion and the template
It depends on the level of detail, how many stitches and stuff.
Just sent in the "YourLogo.ai" file (adobe vector file) and ask for a quote.
Say hello on my behave.

Cheers

Thanks I will hold you on that invite.
It will take me about 10 to 15 days to get to Lviv if all goes well. So it should be around the 12 to 17th of September.
Once I am on the road and have a better view on the dates, I will keep you posted.

3 day test run to Belgium

As I never took the bike out fully loaded and with the GF sitting at the back I thought it was a good idea to go out and see how that would unfold:

The route, highway up to Weert and then "zigzagy" roads down to stavelot:

Unpacked and enjoying some coffee:

Did some cultural stuff, like going to a museum :

There is more on my website: http://wolsly.com/?p=269

Anyhow all worked out great.

The next time, fully loaded together on the bike, will probably be in Georgia.

To my surprise they both were quite obedient
The bike handled fine, athough in the curves and getting rolling from a standstill I had to be gentle on the throttle.

Awesome updates. Keep them coming!

Judging by your license plate, that's a brand new 1150? Import? And what's that scary looking white box on the handle bars? It looks pretty custom, and I'm dying to know what it is :)

That is a MP3 player, the WolsPod if you like.......
I bought a simple 8 gig mp3 player smashed it and hooked up some waterproof buttons, added a power converter and installed it in this waterproof white box.
The WolsPod is hooked up to the motorbikes battery and the buttons can be operated with thick winter-gloves.
This way it can easily be operated during driving and lasts just until your battery dies .

Also there is Ms TomTom, she is more the silent type and adapts to my driving without whining about it.
(I don't have a fancy bluetooth headthingy) She lives on top of the cockpit.
To the right there is the GPS logger.

And yes it is an imported bike, originally from Germany from 2002.
I bought her with 32.000 km on the clock last September.

time for some bike maintenance

I had the day off and the bike needed some TLC.
So I changed the oil in the final drive and the gearbox, installed new brake-pads in the front and checked the valve clearance.

The Valves looked a bit messy and out of tolerance so I took care of that:

And if that does not do the trick then get a bigger hammer, right?????......

Cheers

Toppie tour!

Noticed your posting on the NL riders sign in here topic.

Bąh. Another great travel topic to follow! Enjoy your ride. Noticed that at least, you've got a proper navigation on board of the Beemer (TomTom rider III?). Interested in the coverage in maps for Russia and Ukraine, keep me posted on that.

Looking forward reading your postings from September. Noticed your posting about doubts regarding the Georgian/Russian border crossing... You could consider to pass that part and take the ferry from Kerch (Ukraine) to Poti (Georgia) if the 'regular' border crossing between Russia and Georgia gives difficulties.

Thx

The border should not be a problem anymore, although with my level of Russian.....we will have to wait and see how that goes.
You can read more about that border on the following thread: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=754371
I knew about the ferry though and if necassary I could use it (plan B kind off thingy) but thanks for the advice.
