When really drunk girls with funny accents decide they really want to have drunken sex with you, REGARDLESS of what they look like, have another pint and go into bat for your country.

You will be glad you did.

Most of the time.

Probably.

But you won't know until tomorrow.

So just like the song says - "Don't you ever let a chance go by, oh lord, don't you ever let a chance go by..."

Are you still Mchere? You're not pulling our collective Mcleg are you?

Well Ross, I'm sure you will represent us in fine fashion, and let us know which prison you end up in so we can send Red Cross parcels. Troyboy is just over the water in Swedonia, so he can send some snow and a Norse virgin or two (is there such a thing Troy??). If you see the Queen, give her bum cheek a squeeze from me and say g'day, it's always good to suck up to the boss.
And don't get busted or diseased in Amsterdam, remember the authorities have banned non-residents from certain coffe shop purchases , and although many are defying the order the authorities just might look for a photogenic offender to make an example of (come to think of it, you're fairly safe on that count).

Good luck young McSkywalker, may the McForce be up yours.

Hey mate!tak

Check out the planning threads I have commented on in regards to buying a bike in the UK... everyone will tell you different things, at least I have done it firsthand so I know the experience. It will be tough to buy there without at list a working visa. You will need to get your aussie license exchanged for a british one, to do this is going to take about 3 weeks, then you are looking at another 3 weeks for the rego paperwork, so luckily you will be there for a while. You need to 'lose' your current aussie license and then go and get a duplicate made up. Reason being is that they will take your australian one when you get the British one however, you still need a copy of your australian license to be covered by your travel insurance for when you are on the motorbike).

Stay in touch, I will be in Amsterdam August 11/12 and around that part of Europe for the month after. Then up in London around November.

http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=751031

p.s. I have both Aussie and UK IDP's, so far nobody has asked me for them yet, only been pulled over once by French gendarmarie for speeding 20k over limit - no ticket tough, luckily he just told me to. slow down on the bends.

Thanks mate. I will take it all into account, I won't be getting a bike straight up, I don't have the money for that but will be looking for one further down the track.

If I lose my Aussie license over there can I get a replacement sent over?

Now for the bike content,

Does anyone know of the legalities overseas in regards to riding bikes on an australian license. I will be in Europe.

I'm flying into Amsterdam and will be around there for a few weeks but will ultimately be spending majority of my time in England.

Does anyone know about legalities of riding over there?

mcfearsadventures.blogspot.com is my blog, will be updating it regularly hopefully.

Didn't you just buy a f800gs?

Good luck on your trip - is there much work in the uk at the moment?

I suggest you "lose" it about now & get a replacement before you leave.

I think that's termed; "contributing to the delinquency of a....", or something along those lines Precis.

Mind you... we're all (who have posted in this thrad ) probably guilty of that in any case.

What he said, it's handy to have two when you are doing a trip like that. You shouldn't have any trouble finding work in London.

I didn't know McFeckless was a miner? I thought he was a highly qualified skirtchaser and tour guide...

I always thought it was called "using the system to your advantage".

"Contributing to the delinquency of a miner..." I guess his plan does include a certain amount of tunneling and exploring new places... so yeah. Guilty on all counts...

Yep... no question... I must admit to having had two copies of my QLD issued licence in the past also. Always good to have a "reserve" for when you leave your "other pants" somewhere unexpectedly.

Good luck with your trip McPassport.
