Really glad you are still with us. Your recovery I'm sure has been and will continue to be painful, difficult and frustrating. Please know that you will be in my prayers for as complete a recovery as possible.

Thanks for your service as both an LEO and EMT. I'll Have to forgive your time as a lawyer

Regards!

You can always tell who has been on the job for any amount of time if you use 10 codes... I'm almost done. Managed to avoid anything like the OP is enduring, back riding a desk, supervising.

I just admire his spirit.

Don't forget the nurses!
Two nurses have to verify each unit of blood before it is transfused.

We dont use very many 10 codes anymore. Very few for officer safety.

It has been several weeks since we have heard from Diesel. Can someone who is (hopefully) close to him check on him and let us know how he is? Please.

Namaste'

My new situation and hardware most definitely have me 10-95. It is a huge adjustment for me to get used to be cut back even further on what I can and can't do. I am back on the pain-killers and need them in a big way. Almost any move I make winds up causing me a great deal of something anywhere from plain discomfort to crushing, gnawing, raw pain. It just depends on time of day and where I am in the pill cycle, if you will.

Physical Therapy was mentioned a few posts ago, and I just wanted to point out that I have had more PT in the last 2+ years than any five people will likely have in a lifetime. And I'll have even more . . . just not yet. For right now, I'm in a phase that doesn't permit any PT, but I find ways to keep myself active as I can, within the limits of what my pain permits.

My wife and I are currently staying in an apartment while our home is given an ADA reno. Most of the first floor is being modified for accessibility and will be ready for us in a few weeks. Also, I got word that my new custom-fitted wheelchair was approved and will be ready in a couple more weeks, so there's a lot of things going on and getting better day by day. Even if something feels like a setback, it's only going to be temporary.

Oh, and here are pictures of my new hardware:

That external fixator stuff reminds me of the Hellraiser movies.

On a good note, the skin looks healthy on that leg. A huge improvement from before.

It will get better.

I think about you & your recovery often, diesel.

I'm w/ SML. Color looks good. Plus your lower leg doesn't appear swollen. I think that means that the circulation is good in spite of the swelling at the hardware.

Best wishes in your continuing recovery.
