OK, I bought this thing in the spring with great plans to restore it to its original condition. Well, the Summer came and went and I still haven't finished messing with it.

It was a barn find that sat in a garage since 1993.
It has no rust and it's all there.

I would like to get $1000 for it. I know I can get a lot more if I part it, but I just can't imagine breaking a complete motorcycle apart.

I bought it at auction. I have a bill of sale and the last registration, but no title.

Carbs were gunked, so I cleaned them completely. Front brake was dry, I replaced the brake fluid and got it working pretty nice.

It still needs a battery and a key (I have one, but it only opens the fuel cap ).

I think if you spend another $500 you will have a $3000 bike for half the price. Comes with hard luggage.

Please don't make me part it.

Cheers,

Tom

This is a 32/9 gear set, so it's super low, great for sidecars, off road, and wheelies. It wasn't leaking, the splines are not the best, but have some life left in them. $90

These carbs are 26mm from an r50, but the same as r60, except for different idle and main jets. I gave them a quick, not thorough cleaning, and discovered that one idle jet's head was busted off. I was able to remove it, but you'll need a new jet. Otherwise these carbs are in good condition. The floats look like they are brand new. $75

These heads are in pretty good shape, good spark plug and exhaust threads. I removed an exhaust valve, and the seat was good and the guide was tight. If I were going to use them, I'd take them apart and clean them, lap the valves and run them. $60

I've got quite a bit more left and available from this bike, let me know if you need anything. Thanks for looking.
Interested in the carbs. sending PM

# 048 is the one I need, and I need it posted to Oz.

If a swap works, I have 041, 053, 065, 067.

Here's a pic of the type of lock.

Cheers

I looked at what you have with interest.....
I didn't know the number could be found there....

I'm also looking for a spare key. Most of those have become very hard to find...

10 years ago or more there were a couple of guys that had larger stashes of spare keys. I guess they have been used up? I don't think I've seen the posts anywhere about somebody that had that many. Maybe somebody has a few?

I've never understood why we can't even make these keys. If you have an example of the key you need, you just want another, a locksmith can't cut another. Something about there are no blanks maybe? I don't get that because the keys looks so simple. I think I could cut one with a blow torch. (maybe not)

Every locksmith says the same thing..." I don't have blanks that will work".

Really ?

As you said...So simple it looks as if you could make one yourself.......

Wanted: Black Right Valve Cover

Anybody have a rather nice extra black valve cover (right side)? Mine got chewed up some and I just don't dig the peanut covers. I'll eventually get around to repairing the one I have, but I've kind of been saying that the last 6 months...

Please PM me and we'll go from there. Thanks!
