I bought two sets of /5 wheel wheel bearing shims from Duane Ausherman for $20 shipped. I ended up not using them. My local Airhead tech had extra wedding band spacers in the correct size.

If anyone wants these shims, I'll ship them out to you for $18/both or $10/each if you just want one. It should be enough to properly set the bearing preload for at least two sets of wheel, and maybe many more depending on how many you end up needing to use.

At least when the OEM rubber line collapses you can usually see the evidence of what's going on. With a SS line if there is collapse there is no sign of what the trouble is. They can still collapse.

Wanted: Airhead Plug Wrench

When I bought my bike it came with a tool kit but the plug wrench is for a K bike ??????

Anyway, anybody have an extra Airhead plug wrench they'd be willing to part with ?
Maybe trade for one of my Airhead Funnels ?

Looking for any unwanted (yeah....right!...I KNOW) Airhead speacialty tools....
Specifically the transmission output flange puller......

I am the third owner, I bought this bike in '94 with 23k, I put 77k on this bike myself, including a cross country run in '04. Even though this bike has a lot of miles, I have taken very good care of it, and I always repaired or replaced things right away. It runs better now than it did when I bought it. I never experienced any transmission problems. Only in the last few years I began replacing electronic components, the electrical/charging system is in good working order. While in my care, this beautiful machine has alwas been garaged and kept under cover when not in use.

Considering the overall condition of this bike is excellent, I am asking $6200

WTB: '78 R80/7 owners manual

As ad says, just need/want an owners manual for my bike.

Can also trade a used "Clymer 500-900cc 1955-1975" for owners manual. Well used, but all pages intact. I finally bought the correct Clymer for my bike.

/5 Electric parts

Hello, all:

I have the following /5 parts which won't work on my present bikes, and I won't have any use for:

2 Bosch 6V coils
Rear turn signal bracket, straight
Bosch diode board 01 197 002 001 (15A)
/5 Headlight bulb

I also have several (4) round red side reflectors in decent used shape, with rubber backing pads also in good shape.

Also: /5 (and possibly /6) clutch release lever with boot.

Replacement of "SHED" syste--fool's errand.

After looking into it some more, I decided that it was basically impossible, and a fool's task, to try to replace all the valves, electric fuel tap, vacuum hoses, connectors, wiring harness, etc. which had been removed.

Instead, I simply replaced the fuel lines with new ones routed as in the earlier ('84 to '92) models. I also found on ebay a seller who was parting out a 1983 R65. The starter cover for $19.99 is the same part number and fit perfectly as the "SHED" version on my bike, but without all the "swiss cheese" holes (11 in all!).

I did find, on removing the air cleaner, that one of the vacuum hoses had been plugged with a metal screw into a very short piece of tubing. If that had ever vibrated loose, it could have been sucked into the engine with potentially very dire consequences. I just took a soldering gun with a flat tip and melted the plastic vacuum fitting and sealed it that way. A lot safer, I believe.

I have four of these they came w my s fairing and bike when I bought it last year. 75 R90/6
They look to be in new condition or never used. I have 4 of them. 25$ each shipped.

I've seen them vary on eBay frm 20-75$.

I have seen trouble just by looking at rubber lines when they bulge but I have never seen a rubber line show any signs of blocking flow like I have seen them do many times now.

Stainless steel/teflon lines don't collapse. They cave in from a very sharp bend or from being crushed but . . . . I would take a my 25 year old stainless line over a brand new rubber one any time. It still out performs a brand new rubber line just like it did the day I installed it and it last many times longer to boot. Win/win IMO.
