BMW R80RT

Work that’s been done.
3 years ago I reconditioned this bike to be reliable and fun. Most of this was to be preventive work. When I got the bike it needed brakes, pushrod tube seals and had electrical issues.

Wheels and suspension
New front wheel bearings
Repack steering head bearings
Rebuild front forks, new seals and fluid
Progressive front springs
“Works” rear gas shock with remote reservoir
Farley side stand

Brakes
Rebuilt master cylinder
Rebuilt calipers
New speigler front rotors
New spiegler stainless brake lines
EBC “HH” pads
BMW rear shoes

Electrical
Alternator brushes
Diode board
High voltage regulator
New ignition control module
“Run-n-lites” on rear
Hyper lite brake lights
Dyna coil
Bosch wires, ngk plug caps
VDO amp gauge
Stock clock works, but is unplugged so as not to drain battery
New battery on order

Fuel
Flushed gas tank ( yearly)
Rebuilt petcocks
Rebuilt carbs
Fuel lines
Aux filters (yearly)

Controls
New speedo, clutch and throttle cables
New throttle tube and gears on handlebar

Final drive
Swapped stock to a 32/10 ratio. Helps with fuel milage and lowers RPM by 500 rpm at 70mph
Big bearing, seal and brake shaft o-rings

Engine
Timing chain, sprockets and tensioner
Rod bearings, piston pin bushings and rings
Valves hand lapped
Clutch disc
Both rear seals
New oil pump

Best of luck on your sale, coastranger; sad to see your bike go on the block.

There is a difference in the sub-frame, swing arm, drive shaft and seat. I think the fenders are the same. Oh and something else is happening with the battery box. Since I don't own a SWB I'm not sure about the battery box thing.

You /5 guys are lucky we let you use 12 volts.

There's just a smaller, split (2 piece) battery tray/box.

WTB: stock r100gs tank or a P/D front end. I have an '87 that I am trying to get back on the road.

For sale to anyone who may be interested (as I have no need for it) an Acerbis 13 gal. Plastic tank. Was white, now slightly tan.

WTB: /5 Stock Side Stand

Like the title says, loking for a stock side stand for my 1971 R60/5. Not concerned with surface finish, but it must be straight.

Not interested in aftermarket, only stock.

PM if you got something.

Thanks!!

Sorry sold the tank last week. But what do you mean exactly by the front end?
