Voltmeter Wanted

A friend of mine with a 1976 R75/6 is looking for a white face OEM motometer voltmeter. Working condition. White face, not green face. If you've got one for sale, post here or PM me. Thanks.

WTB: 38mm ate caliper

Tearing into (through) my recently aquired 1974 R75/6 and I now know why the brakes were downright scary on my quick ride around the block ... my front caliper was pretty much seized. Piston is rusted/pitted and the outside landing (outward of the seal) is corroded on the caliper body. I don't think it is salvageable.

Does anyone have a serviceable (or working even better) 38mm caliper lying around looking for a good home? If so, please let me know.

Thanks,

Chris

A 40mm will work just fine. Possibly better, I don't know.

Thought about the 40mm, I'm sure it would function, but I think I would have to switch out the master to the larger one for it to work well.

I did manage to find a 38mm one on ebay for a decent price that looks good.

I bet the 40 would work better, even without swapping MCs. You'd have greater than stock lever travel, but that means better leverage so to speak, and improved modulation. On my RD350, I replaced the stock 14 mm MC with a 12mm, and it's better in every way.

I have a rough one (metal is OK) from a '74 R90. Know if it's the same part?

I've got a black one from a /5 that's in decent shape. I'd let it go cheap, or would trade. Check your PM's

I've heard that people interchange the front fenders from /5 to /6 and now have been told this is wrong. I think some people have done it though just not sure how the one matches up to the fitment of the other. If you look at the two different bikes, a /5 has the fender mounted to the brace which goes over the fender, a /6 has the fender mounted to the brace which is under the fender. Apparently using the wrong fender gives some different alignment to the fender. maybe it's not too noticeable. I would have to see it done to be able to tell you if I thought it mattered.

Everybody knows the /7 fender is shorter than the /6 fender. But did you know they have a different profile? I put a /7 brace on my /6 and had to trim the /6 fender to make it fit the later model brace. I don't think this is too noticeable but have been told by one purist that I can't do that. Oh Well.
