Thanks
Lot of times the pitting is on the exposed part of the leg. So it doesn't run past any seal. You can clean them up and run them. Fit gaiters for appearance..they look good, get the 13 pleat repros.

You might consult Beemer Boneyard or the like.

Can't use Google. I work for the OTHER guys. 66% of people who try that other search engine that begins with a B prefer it.

Anyway, I've heard mixed things about Franks Forks. The pitting IS outside the swept area. I may try to clean em and cover them up.

I am gonna PM the fellow in the UK to see how bad shipping is.

THanks
Neal

Pitted forks

I keep a bottle of clear fingernail polish in my tool box ...Yeah it raises some eyebrows.

Take the pitted fork tube, clean and degrease thoroughly, especially the pits. Sparingly apply nail polish to the pits. Sand tube using worn 220 grit drywall sandscreen in the same motion you would use to polish shoes.
The nail polish fills the pits, the sanding levels the polish and removes the "crater wall" formed by rust at the edge of the pits.
The crater wall is what actually destroys the seal. The pits themselves don't hold enough oil to really be the leak.

Can also trade a used "Clymer 500-900cc 1955-1975" for owners manual. Well used, but all pages intact. I finally bought the correct Clymer for my bike.

Bumparoo for the Owners Manual.

Also need parts to plumb in dual brake setup. Easiest would be a dual output under tank MC. I have a 3 hose/splitter setup now. If I had a bar mounted MC this would work, but I don't. Could use:

Dual output under tank MC
Hose from single output MC to splitter
Or something that would help to convert.

Parts I have but unable to use. 2 lines from splitter to Brembo calipers, splitter, and hose from splitter to bar mount MC.

It's not new but it's in excellent shape (no grease, dog ears, etc.).
How 'bout $25 plus shipping.
PayPal only.

Too bad I didn't see this last month. Paid full price for new That's almost 1/2 price. Could use a Haynes. Not that it's a better manual, but I love having all the info available that's out there. Each has something tha's not in the other. Have spent a couple weeks already going through the 792 pages in the Clymer.

Need the color electrical schematic to thumb tack on the garage wall. Don't want to stretch out & possibly damage my new manual.

In search of: shock and main frame

I'm in search of a GS Paralever main frame. Paperwork is not required. It must be straight. I already have plenty of banana G/S-ST-GS frames.

I'm also in search of a tired shock that fits the GS Paralever machines. It can be crusty, yet not way too crusty. I only need it for a fixture and not for daily rider use. So, no high value shock is required.

Email, no PM's.

Thanks,
Carl

Paralever seat trade or Seat pan needed

Greetings, I have a great seat for my 92 R100R. I bought it used. It is a custom seat, leather, looks like has a gel incert, looks like a Russell or Myer, something very comfy, but no label. Top side is red leather, sides are black leather. I am willing to Trade it for a stock seat pan plus some $$$.

Please PM me. I will take some pictures of it and maybe we can work something out. I am doing a custom job and really only need the pan and I hate to cut this seat up.

What do you got?

NOS /5 Clutch, Brake and Throttle Cables

Hello:
I have one each, throttle, clutch and brake cable for a /5.
I think that the clutch cable is for low bars, and the brake for high bars, but I'm not sure about either.
I'm not sure about the throttle cable either.

Tell me how to measure them, and I'll let you know the length.

Each never used or mounted, NOS purchased in the '90's.

$20 each or make offer, plus Priority Mail.

Thanks.
