I was called to the workshop today...
Dave has been busy, and there are some decisions to make. There was a serious looking GS parked out in the driveway


Wait a minute that's mine !



This is the Brittania Composites Lynx cockpit and headlight assembly.



There is a screen that attaches to the front of the fairing and can be easily adjusted up and down, but that hasn't been fitted yet.

This is the view from the hot seat..



I want to attach my Zumo 550 in the space above the vapour digital speedo unit. I would prefer a more flush mounted GPS but the Zumo works well and is already set up to move between my other bikes.

The air box has been fitted up and looks great..





So next will be the wiring harness, air box to carb tubes, some indicators (going to use Yamaha TT250R indicators)
Dave will need to fabricate indicator mounts for the front pair, along with some steering stops.

Fit the crash bars lengthen the side stand then get it ready for a test ride.

It's really starting to look the business...



...and i am really happy with the riding position and ergonomics, it's a really comfortable fit. Not a common thing when you are 6'4"



Everything has been going together really well but there is one glitch, the front brake caliper adaptor has not arrived yet!
Pick up day is supposed to be next Saturday the 2nd of June...... Fingers crossed!

It came from Canada Bully, I ordered it directly from the manufacturer after an email enquiry. They supply with fittings to mount to specific bikes.

Hey Dakar i've ben using those TTR indicators for a few years - they're good but they do tend to curl back. Not sure if you knew this already but you may want to dab some glue under the stalk to keep them looking as good as the bike.

Great looking bike. Interesting that two "HPN`s" come to fruition about the same time at opposite sides of the world.

Good to see the Lynx fairing, I`ve wondered what they look like on an airhead GS; my R100GS special will be fitted with one as well.

Nice bike.Every time I ride mine it reminds me of why it is one of the best all-a-rounders ever made.
Today I used mine to scout crops (corn and soybeans) and take the wife out to breakfast.
She loves riding on that thing.

Back in the day when mine was new two of my neighbors had the same model.
Both were successfull growers and treated me suspisiously as they couldn't figure out where my crop was.
Townsfolk treated my supisiously too.
Changed the colour from blue to camo and put on a trailer hitch just to confuse everyone.
Sure was useful for hauling the shopping to the caravan at the top of the banana plantation

Well 2nd of June sounded too good to be true, and so it was. New target Saturday 9th of June. Along the way Dave realized that the Omega ignition was not going to play nicely with the Enduralast alternator. Basically it would stick out too far for the standard cover. So a rush order was placed last Thursday for an Enduraspark ignition. I was impressed when it arrived this Wednesday lunch time. Then not so impressed when we found it didn't fit right!

I spent most of today at the workshop. Its looking good for tomorrow and joy of joy's she's running sweeeeet!!

I`m keen to find out how the Lynx works at speed. My 100GS is going to have to do 1000Km days when it`s built, just like the 1100GS.
