Nice to be riding again...
I'm the first to admit that I didn't get to ride much since Feb. but today, I was out quite a bit running errands and such. Stopped at a shop to pick up a new rear tube, took my daughter to dance this morning, went to the post office/atm/grocery store this afternoon and stopped at an auto parts store. A total of 4 different trips.
What was unusual for me was the number of people who commented positively about the bike.... 'nice bike', 'I've never seen anything like it', one little kid at dance told his mom, 'that's the kind of dad I want', etc.
I wouldn't attribute it to anything special but in the back of my mind, I'm wondering if people are getting tired of loud V-twin-cruisers? On the way from the motorcycle shop, a group of three or four were stopped at the same light as I was but heading in the opposite direction. The noise level was unbelievable when they took off. That must annoy the shit out of the cellphone-talking-soccer-moms. Hey - there's a good reason to ride one.
No slam intended.... I assume they were enjoying the day as much as I was... I'm just quiet about it.
Exhaustion and exhilaration are my friends.

I kinda had a similiar day...
Took Blue Balls out for breakfast and then went to a Kawasaki grand opening so the KTM would be in the picture when they took the aerial shot and then went and parked it at the Harley dealership where they were having a bike show. One of the contestants told me it was the best looking bike there (besides his ).
I don't think I'll ever understand why so many people have a passion for something so loud and yet so un-inspiring to ride. My 'awe' level for a Harley rider with loud pipes is EXACTLY on par with my 'awe' level for an acne infested teenager with a megaphone exhaust on a Honda Civic.
